[UPDATED] Check Out These PRINCES OF THE APOCALYPSE Maps!

I think Blando's maps were beautiful. I'm not sure he's to be blamed for any of the confusion and editing issues concerning the maps. I also like Schley's maps a ton, so I'm thrilled he's working on this project.

    D&D 5E (2014) Is 5e suitable for large groups?

It's faster than 4E. Still though, that's too many players for one group in my opinion. The sweet spot is still four player characters. Five is fine too, but once you get above five it starts to bog down.

    D&D 5E (2014) Are DMs getting lazy?

My game hasn't stopped due to a light release. I have and will create my own campaigns and/or convert older ones. But still, I'd still like to see some new material coming out for 5th edition, or see them release official 5e conversions of classic campaigns. It might be a mistake to think that...

    D&D 5E (2014) What Wizard should I be?

Thanks for all the great suggestions! I've decided to go with a gnome divination wizard with a gambling problem. (Although being able to tell the future means it's a profitable problem, usually.) He'll probably get himself into a lot of trouble.

D&D 5E (2014) Am I the only one that dislikes Adventure Paths?

This is really some fantastic advice.

    D&D 5E (2014) What Wizard should I be?

I take it by this you mean Necromancer. ;)

    D&D 5E (2014) What Wizard should I be?

This week I get to play a character instead of DM. I want to play a wizard, but I'm not sure which wizard subclass to pick. Tell me which one you think I should play, and tell me why. :) Thanks in advance.

    Question about Castle Waterdeep

Thanks for the resources. I already have Waterdeep and the North, and Volo's guide to Waterdeep. But as far as I can tell, they don't really explain precisely who might live in Castle Waterdeep or what it's used for outside of a training ground for the guard (in the outside area of the castle)...

    Question about Castle Waterdeep

I'm just beginning to delve into the history, lore, and geography of Waterdeep. I have a quick question (and likely more to follow up with later). Who lives in Castle Waterdeep? I know (or think) the open lord of Waterdeep lives in the palace. And the guard uses the exterior part of the castle...

    D&D 5E (2014) Grappling & engulfing - how do they work in 5e?

Maybe the DM got it confused with the swallowed "condition" (or state, or whatever). I could be wrong, but I believe that if a creature swallows you, you can't escape via a strength check to break free.

Monarch of the Monsters: Kobold Press' 5E Monster Design Contest

So what does this tell us about their plans for future 5e material?

GF9 is updating the D&D 5E SPELL CARDS

Yes I did this. I used a Sharpie fine point pen and it worked just fine. I put a "C" in the concentration box. Won't need to do this for the new cards, so that's nice.

D&D 5E (2014) thief used his invisibility HIDDING

Yes, as far as I'm aware. Think of hiding in terms of two components: sight and sound. The invisibility ring solves the sight issue (for normal sight), but an invisible person could still be heard if he/she moves around. A good stealth check will solve the sound component, so that a person can...

    D&D 5E (2014) Thoughts on spending gold ...

Perhaps to some, or many. But in my world, I like that powerful magical items a rarity and can't be purchased in a store. I like that in each campaign, with random rolls, you never know what you might come upon in a deep dungeon. So for me, it adds to the game. To each their own. But if I...

    D&D 5E (2014) Thoughts on spending gold ...

I treat coins and gems as weightless, so that does help me and the players from being too bogged down in keeping track of them. We do keep track of weights of everything else. If they found a treasure hoard that was mostly art pieces, though, they would need to account for that.

D&D 5E (2014) Is Anyone Using Variant Encumbrance?

Have you tried just not worrying about the weight of coins, and just keeping track of the weight of other things? That might solve some of the over-complexity while still bringing in the rules of carrying capacity.

    D&D 5E (2014) Thoughts on spending gold ...

The group I DM has been playing since the playtest, and they are about to reach 10th level. I, like others, was worried about whether they would have something to spend their gold on now that they have acquired a good amount. But I'm no longer worried. I think the issue of what to spend gold...

D&D 5E (2014) Is Anyone Using Variant Encumbrance?

I really liked the encumbrance rules of the playtest. I don't know why they decided to change it. As I remember correctly, you were encumbered if you surpassed 10 times your strength score. There wasn't really a light encumbrance, just heavy. And if you surpassed it I believe you had...

    D&D 5E (2014) magic items prices

If you want to allow selling of magic items, there is an option for that in the DMG. I don't have the book in front of me, so I can't give you the page number, but it essentially says that you can sell them in large cities or markets, but it will take you a certain number of days (determined by...

    D&D 5E (2014) Group new to 5E - what should we know?

While people keep saying you don't need a rogue, and while that is certainly true, it does help to have at least one character proficient with thieves tools. Without the proficiency, and without the tools themselves, you are going to be out of luck getting locked doors and items open, and with...
