    So No Feat/PrC Compendium eh?

I'd buy a feat compendium. Not sure if I'd buy a PrC compendium, but it's a nice idea. Heck, I'd happily accept an online index with complete feat/class descriptions. Preferably with a spreadsheet function, so I could print out lists of feats that my character has, customizable to each...

Fantabulous storytelling, Rel. Had me grinning all the way through. :D

    Flash Gordon

No, the "Imex" bit didn't come from either the 1980 movie or the original serials/comics. Short history of Flash Gordon, s-blocked for those who don't want to know: Flash Gordon first appeared as a comic strip in 1934, created by Alex Raymond. He was originally kidnapped, along with...

    D&D 4E 4E: Why now?

If D&D was a car, there would be a new model every year. If it was a piece of software there would be a new version every six months. If it was a hamburger at Burger King, it would be changed or renamed or removed from the menu at a rate of frequency almost impossible to keep up with. The...

    EUREKA:Season 2-8/2007 Show 6

A few too many red herrings about what was causing the dream-sharing. I liked it that it made reference back to Henry wiping Carter's memory. It's nice to see them following their own history and referring back to it. But why did Jo start that little "thing" with Fargo? I thought she had a...

Masters of Science Fiction, 2nd Episode.

I forgot to watch. :o I'm not sanguine about how well they'll handle the Harlan Ellison story they adapted if they're being so obvious and preachy with the other adaptations. His work is nothing if not subtle and layered.

The Last Legion. Why am I just now hearing about this?

Not making - made. It'll be on US screens in October. And they've changed the title. It's now The Seeker - The Dark is Rising.

    Flash Gordon

You've got a good point there - they're trying to bring Flash Gordon to a new generation of people who may never have seen the '80s movie, let alone the '30s serials or newspaper strips. I tried to keep that in mind while watching the premiere. But you'll notice I never made any comments about...

Are your games continuous or episodic?

It's about 50/50, depending on who GMs the game. Some GMs in the group prefer continuous, others like episodic.

    Bad RPG Ideas, #477

I've actually played an Iron Chef RPG. It was a lot of fun. But we actually didn't roleplay cooking - we were acquiring ingredients. ;)

    Why does D&D have bears?

You're always a bad Hobo. :p This would be the flaw I'd see in your idea to create just slightly different versions of terrestrial animals like the firemares, jdrakeh. Unless you have a very open-minded group of players, at least one of them is likely to behave like Geoff Watson's group and...

    D&D Brand Manager of Fluff

Don't set it anywhere specific - don't tie it to just one setting. Just give info about Oriental cultures and how they might fit into the different settings. For Kara-Tur, do a dadgummed FR book!! (grumble grumble - it should be in Unapproachable East - grumbe grumble).

    Stardust (Spoilers)

Whatever gave you that idea? It isn't targeted at any specific audience and I think Gaiman would be disappointed to hear that anyone thought so. I've read it several times, and while I am female I'm a long, long way from being a teenager. It's quite mature and I would think equally appealing...

    Flash Gordon

I didn't hold out much hope that this would be great, but I did hope it would be like Eureka and surprise me. No such luck, sadly. It was 90 minutes of sheer boredom. I could forgive the changes to the story, but the acting was mediocre at best and the story was full of gaping plot holes. I...

    D&D Brand Manager of Fluff

I can't think of anything someone else hasn't already suggested, so I'll just vote for things that I would probably buy if they were produced. Greyhawk Campaign Setting. For crying out loud, how can you not have a hardcover setting book for your default setting?! Player's Guide to Greyhawk...

How would you remake the D&D cartoon?

I think the "transported to another world" hook is a good one that would work to draw in viewers who are otherwise unfamiliar with D&D. They could stick with that, just find a more compelling reason for the characters to be transported to this other reality. Or maybe don't explain it at all...

Banning a Player from my Group. Am I Justified?

If you do have a conversation with him, I would recommend that you not refer to his behavior as petty, childish, or selfish. Using those terms is likely to put him on the defensive and make him feel insulted, which won't help to keep a calm, mature discussion going.

Talk to me about item crafting

Fabulous list! Thanks! :) I've been perusing the Magic Item Compendium for the cheaper wondrous items that might come in handy for my group. I have considered Brew Potion, but I do find it more appealing to create items that aren't single-use. I may have to check that out. Typically we...

Talk to me about item crafting

I've got to talk to the GM about it, but I don't think the XP components is going to be much of a problem. He plays pretty loose with the rules and I suspect he'd rather keep all the party members at the same level than worry about one person falling behind when that person is doing something...
