    D&D 5E (2014) Artificer Homunculus and Uses

Latter on the homunculus can handle the concentration via the SSI and could hide while pumping out THP and providing cover which would mean you have a nigh untraceable buff bot flying around.

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

Warforged(+1) + enhanced defense infusion(+1)+ half-plate and shield(+19) Most wizards become tanks regardless if they wanted too or not.

    D&D 5E (2014) Artificer Homunculus and Uses

The homunculus can dodge+ move without any action cost but can only do so after the artificer's action so it can be clunky.

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

IMO the armorer is fine due to having two modes but only fine because it's not easy to switch between them in a tight time restriction. Wish it had a once a day action mode switch.

    D&D 5E (2014) Artificer Homunculus and Uses

Mage armor is pretty handy for the homunculus to push it up to 15 AC which is respectable. I personally prefer just use a familiar as a way to place the EC in a good position to avoid action economy issues but it's softer but worse case your EC is now on the ground. Once you get winged boots...

    D&D 5E (2014) Artificer Homunculus and Uses

Since it's basically dodging all the time and has evasion it's fairly hearty as drone platform for the EC. Like I mentioned before you could always make it invisible to boot.

    D&D 5E (2014) Artificer Homunculus and Uses

It's a fairly hotly debated topic but as presented nothing prevents it. You do need to talk to your DM to find out how they would rule certain interactions like the homunculus being invisible and you activating the cannon. There's a neat combos you can pull off like using be ready action to...

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

Armorer is definitely a tier below BS and artillerist until the late game unless they really work at it like a goblin using their racial feature and SS to leverage the infiltrator option.

D&D 5E (2014) All I do is Bless, Bless, Bless

I do think there needs to be special consideration for order clerics casting bless due to the fact you have a lot of freedom on who you use VoA on and can buff that reaction attack all at the same time. Don't have the best PCs to target with the given party make-up but it does stretch the...

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

I missed that comparison. Artillerist would be the most natural one as a at-will spell slinger to stack up against the wizard and I don't think the gap is that large. Potent cantrip is nice and evokers are low key a contender for best PC option but EAF/arcane firearm + homunculus is solid...

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

Eh. I think monks in general are under rated and the shadow variety is a prime example of that but they have a niche they fill and the subclass "spells" support it. Even with more SR/ki per day they can't choose to utilize that resources differently. Casting any number of leveled spells X times...

D&D 5E (2014) All I do is Bless, Bless, Bless

Don't overlook the simple power of dodge+insert cleric spell of choice and hanging out wherever you want. Also all those reaction attacks you are triggering with bless should be credited to your cleric.

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

Anytime you are comparing anything against wizards and it's not an obvious blowout you know it's probably an ok option. Wizard are probably the best class in the game at performing most roles depending on what content is in play and what has become the normalized adventuring day. While the gap...

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

Not really. It's a little slow going at first and finding armor to take advantage of the Prof can be a little dm dependent but overall it does a good job at what it sets out to do.

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

Quite efficient on the battle Smith thanks to having 2 AOs coupled with the radiant infusion and having a high defensive ceiling. Not leaving a lot of options for them to choose from.

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

Don't forget you can stack a magical weapon and the EAF infusions at lower levels for some decent attack numbers even with a lower Dex as an alchemist. Has the side benefit of buffing homunculus attack as well. Won't wow anyone but it's steadily above most people's baseline.

D&D 5E (2014) Why do people think elven accuracy is so great?

This is about the only time EA shines along side anything that makes critical hit damage worthwhile. Other than that its a solid half feat but overrated IMO.

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

It's hard to have a discussion on the metric on how fun or interesting a class is. Though artificer is pretty polarizing due to its "default" flavor regardless of it's built in flavor freedom. The real question is does it succeed at being a more caster focused half caster and does the infusions...

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

Sure they can be taken out but they're not exactly soft. They still defender has about as much effective health as a rogue.more so if you are just letting it dodge. The cannon has the edge of being practically immune to most spells and effects being an object rather than a creature. Most time...

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

Hunters mark/ favor foe is a resource, costs a bonus action, and eats concentration. Not to mention the arrow/bolt issue for those tables that track weight/ammo. The SD can move and dodge on its own without any action cost which is besides the point Because you said your SD is always dead for...
