    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

you can get mid 30s for AC with a selfish artificer without much effort. having super high avoidance based defense is a very strong suit for the class with both AC and saves. hence why they can handle extreme cercumstances like face tanking a dragon solo while the rest of the party is off...

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

Only really a boon at lv 20 due to capstone. It's a top tier capstone but before then attunement slots are likely to stay empty unless your table tosses magic gear out like a 3.5 game

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

What does crafting have to do with the attunement cap? Artificer gets a bonus slot at lv 10/14/18 for a total of 6 or 7 with wand sheath.

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

I don't think the armorer features allow a work around for the attunement limit unlike a wand sheath. Saying that. 6-7 is already a large leg up

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

I think the design intent was for the artificer to excel at complementing rather than trying to be in direct competition with anyone. I like playing half-casters due to the spell slot limitations. Full casters are playing on easy mode and martials can be very one dimensional. Half casters...

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

Don't forget flash of genius and gloves of thievery if they really want to go alt rogue.

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

Damage wise the battlesmith artificer comes in just behind the paladin, which is a pretty high bar, with the added advantage of being hard to shutdown (see any fight dealing with ranged combat with the paladin) while simultaneously having the ability to place there class features where they have...

    Helper Classes

Healing isn't necessarily but you do need ways of addressing the nastiest of the conditions and dealing with the effects of not having healing for those who can't take a nap and recover 100s of HPs.

    Helper Classes

i like this head space. cleric could move to fit the niche that the pally takes up. pally could be reasonably split up into different sub classes for each other class.

    D&D 5E (2014) Tasha's Optional Class Features - Using Them or Not?

im allowing all but the channel divinity for spell slot recharge.

D&D 5E (2014) Why do so few 5E monsters have save proficiencies?

mostly that make up for it with super high ability scores. I don't mind it because it keep stat blocks shorter. skill Prof is a weak point. its really easy to get high values so a 8 str rogue can grapple an ogre and such.

D&D 5E (2014) How to play DnD 5e for Free

Our local library has all the core books dice, and character sheets available to check out/take. I don't know how common that is though. Most were donated via kitty jar in local stores.

D&D 5E (2014) How would you improve monsters?

    1) add a useable thumb index and format it by adding a way to quick search with a cross reference. 2) integrate flavor fully into the stat blocks to breath some character into the NPCs. For example, have the reference on why Hobgoblins with probably target anyone wearing or displaying holy...

    D&D 5E (2014) Has D&D Combat Always Been Slow?

Encounters are as fast as each tables action resolution speed is. It doesn't matter if they last 1 round or 20 if the time for a cycle to be completed is so long tension is lost.

    D&D 5E (2014) Is Tasha's slowing down your combat?

I can see combat slowing down but not due to the new summon X spells. There is a lot more dice manipulation options across the board for players so that can potentially slow the game down.

    D&D 5E (2014) Was the Rune Knight (in Tasha's) "over-nerfed"?

Rune shield is a little redundant with storm rune but while the rune can apply adv/dis the former can be used in tandem with disadvantage. The fact you know if the attack hits prior to using it makes it hard to waste. RS is the filler reaction when you don't want to pop a rune.

    D&D 5E (2014) Switching Frenzy and Retaliation?

I've been using that particular change now since about 2 months after 5e was originally released. Retaliation is actually less powerful then a lot of people realize because of the 5-ft range limitation.

D&D 5E (2014) Best MultiClass character build? Why?

New UA feat that allows you use the the help action as a bonus action, with an increased range of 10 ft, and it Targets two Allies at once.

D&D 5E (2014) Best MultiClass character build? Why?

Eloquent bard with single-level dip in order cleric it's probably the best way to capitalize on somebody else's high damage output. Where do you add that means you can use tandem tactics as well.

    D&D 5E (2014) Optimization and the +1 Weapon Principle

What's a good DPR value seems like a simple question but I don't know if there ever will be a concrete answer.
