For those of you who have run the game, how do you handle out of game talk or GM description effecting the meta game and only being able to use specific words for the players? Do you pass a lot of notes?
I did the same thing you did 1auxy after reading this thread :) When I have some more free time later in the week I'll post some thoughts. We've had about 3 or 4 plays so far.
I've only ever had a problem like this where players did not seem to any interest whatsoever about the gameworld their characters were involved in with games of D&D. :erm:
Did you talk to the people playing the game about what you want to do? I think that would be the best thing to do first. Would be shame to do all that work then have the players get frustrated playing "Fantasy-SAT-Test & Dragons". :p
ENWorld Administrators, if you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for ENWorld and the people who post here, if you seek freedom from trolls: Come here to this thread! Administrators, close this thread! Admins, tear down that original post!
I used to fudge dice in the very early stages of my GMing career. But lately I do not change or alter dice rolls at all, nor do I idly roll dice to create pseudo-anxiety. I find those two practices very silly and detract from the game.

Ranger: "I'm a ranger! Rawr!"
