Pathfinder 2E My Biggest Concern for Pathfinder 2e

I'm interested in this. Wouldn't this also affect the progressive failure/success system in some ways? I really love bounded accuracy, and not inflating numbers so constantly. I might wait on the GM guide before jumping in just to get a complete picture on this... Or I might do all the math and...

Pathfinder 2E Are you moving from 5E to PF2?

I'm having a lot of thoughts about how the three-action system could be ported to 5E, or modified as a two-action+move system. Some things would need considerable changes but I personally love that system for combat. I also sort of like the proficiency system (minus the level bonus), on a...

Pathfinder 2E Are you moving from 5E to PF2?

I'm not sure if any specifically could be argued at the same level of complexity as things like character creation usually don't have analogues in most board games and there's also the aspect of whether players should have knowledge of the contents of the Bestiary. Just to grab a quick list, I...

Pickle ricks, probably. Or Garblovians. (I've never watched the show, my IQ isn't high enough.)

Pathfinder 2E Are you moving from 5E to PF2?

As I think I was the first to suggest it, I think what I really want in a "cheat sheet" for PF2 is really tailored to the character a bit. In my mind, what I'm imagining is something laid out like the power cards of 4E as exported from the old character builder, where modified activities might...

Pathfinder 2E Are you moving from 5E to PF2?

I think this edition could benefit from a more laid out "here's actions you can take on your turn" type of sheet, kind of like what was had with "power cards" in 4E. Maybe that would help with players who aren't as engaged by the tactical applications. Or maybe that would be even more confusing...

Nat 20 rule. Is it immersion breaking?

I feel this as well. I very much want something with the level of options as Pathfinder but with bounded accuracy and simpler bonuses and penalties. Within the scaling success model in PF2, I don't hate the 20 rule but I'd be fine with houseruling it if the table truly hates it.

    D&D 5E (2014) [5E] A Rogue "unnerf" - Extra Attack

A subclass for rogue that gets extra attack at 6 or 7 wouldn't be the worst thing to exist but I'd want it to be more interesting than just +1 attack. Make it meaningful in some way rather than just another chance to get sneak attack in. Maybe something like a thug archetype. Adding it to the...

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Barbarian and Monk

I totally missed that it didn't have a use per day limit. In addition to feeling that it should have a "no reducing this damage" clause, probably should only work so many times a day. Since the subclass already uses Con, I'd say Con modifier uses a day.

Pathfinder 2E Complexity vs. Depth -- A Look Inside Pathfinder 2nd Edition

It does seem that mobility here is going to be important as most enemies in the bestiary don't seem to have the ability to attack a retreating enemy as a reaction. That's going to vary by table, of course. Champions and Fighters both can take feats at 8 to have a bonus reaction that can only...

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Barbarian and Monk

I love this wild barbarian. I've often tried to work out how a spellcasting barbarian might function and this is a really interesting take (though it doesn't actually cast any spells other than Detect Magic). I understand why some don't like the idea of it but I really love it. The...

Pathfinder 2E Low-level Wizards in PF2 - are they still underpowered?

I'm a little confused by this statement. Scorching Ray, Melf's Acid Arrow, Ray of Sickness, Chromatic Orb, Witch Bolt (admittedly bad), Vampiric Touch, Blight. These are basically all better than Magic Missile and typically scale better if they scale. You might argue that some of them don't get...

Pathfinder 2E Low-level Wizards in PF2 - are they still underpowered?

I don't think cantrips compare badly to ranged weapons outside of bows. Action economy is similar, damage is similar. But then class features bring weapon users above that comparison either by being more precise, allowing more attacks, or getting a flat damage boost. Wizards can't do much to...

Pathfinder 2E Low-level Wizards in PF2 - are they still underpowered?

Could go Canny Acumen instead of toughness to get expert in Fort. If we're only thinking about 1st level, it might go farther than the 1 HP will. Then again, might not see a Fort save all day.

D&D 5E (2014) D&D Stats: What The Typical 5E Party *Actually* Looks Like

Seems like people forget that feats are an optional rule and not assumed to be in every table by default. However, I wonder if the number of tables using D&D Beyond use more feats and multiclassing than those that don't. Of course, that's just speculation without data but it would not surprise me.

Pathfinder 2E Complexity vs. Depth -- A Look Inside Pathfinder 2nd Edition

I don't think the shield rules are bad. I mostly just think we've used shields in a specific way for so long that this rule feels obtuse, even among a mass of other new rules changing how things work. AD&D had some shield rules where you could only protect yourself from so many attacks a turn...

D&D 5E (2014) D&D Stats: What The Typical 5E Party *Actually* Looks Like

There's certainly people that don't actually understand the system they are playing in but believe that they do to the point they think their build is uber-effective, and then find their builds fall apart under inspection. The only other thing I can think of is people that really push for...

Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder 2E Conversion Guide

Certainly not comprehensive but solid advice for converting. Have to agree with the sentiments above, though.

Pathfinder 2E Are you moving from 5E to PF2?

I probably will try to play some PF2 but 5E will remain my main game. I still really want something in between 5E and Pathfinder but I don't think PF2 is quite how I'd envisioned it. I really love the three-action system, though.
