    D&D 5E (2014) Greater invisibility spamming?

Bladesinger's really just to protect your concentration saves and a small AC boost. Extra Attack is a nice trade-off, though. Suppose it depends on whether you care more about keeping your GI active or more about dealing more damage. I guess if you go Fighter at all, you go for it again above...

    D&D 5E (2014) Greater invisibility spamming?

It's on the Warlock's Archfey Expanded list. So, two times per short rest at level 7. Depending on party makeup, they'll be able to cast it more than any other will. Cunning action is a 2 level dip into Rogue. After that, I'd consider Wizard for Bladesinger for the concentration boost (AC and...

D&D 5E (2014) The Guides have not been updated with the SCAG.

Someday I will update my conjuration guide but it probably won't be until at least January. Very tempted to rate Bladesinger as gold for that, though I think I might just have new-stuff-fever. +Int to concentration checks twice per short rest is a huge boost, and an arguably easy dip for other...

D&D 5E (2014) Beyond the book: new ways to represent a wizard's spells known

I play a homebrew class I found here on EnWorld (Runeseeker). Runes on a weapon. Not as wizardly as a wizard but still pretty cool. I like a lot of the ideas here. Inspired by my own beard and the Minigiant's signature and knowing full well that proper wizards have long flowing beards, how...

D&D 5E (2014) Weak monsters that terrify you

When playing at low levels I'm instantly terrified anytime creatures with pack tactics show up.

D&D 5E (2014) Legend of Zelda inspired campaign

Yeah, I'm going full on in the idea I had before. Basic hook is during Imprisoning War, while the Seven Sages are trying to stop the worst breeches, adventurers are hired by the royal family to seek out smaller rifts in reality to stop The Demon King's army from flooding into the Light World...

D&D 5E (2014) Legend of Zelda inspired campaign

I'm old school, I think I may plan an Imprisoning War adventure, based heavily on A Link to the Past and Link Between Worlds but before either of those adventures. I think both of our ideas have merit. Totally cool. Really wishing I hadn't gone to work today... EDIT: I'm not sure why me...

D&D 5E (2014) Legend of Zelda inspired campaign

I've not got a lot of notes down on paper, most of it's still in my brain. I'm back and forth a bit on whether the rods would give access to spells or just spell-like abilities. The Tornado Rod, for instance, could give access to various wind spells (Gust, Gust of Wind, Warding Wind, Wind Wall...

    D&D 5E (2014) Help with Playing as a ghost

This would have been a great oppurtunity for a homebrew prestige class giving some ghostly abilities.

D&D 5E (2014) Legend of Zelda inspired campaign

I've actually done some thoughts on the items previously. I think the LOZ items are fairly easy enough to translate. I was thinking that an LOZ sword might grant some of the abilities shown in the games, like swinging the sword to send a beam of energy and maybe also the spin attack. The former...

D&D 5E (2014) 'The Paladin as King': Cutting Through the Hype

I have seen Warlock+Paladins. Kind of tool-boxy with short-rest Smites, Hex, and Eldritch Blast as well as all the normal Paladin stuff.

    D&D 5E (2014) Optimizing a Dwarven Thrower build

It already works. The second feature of Crossbow Expert does not require you to use a ranged weapon, only to make a ranged attack. It also helps with spell attacks.

D&D 5E (2014) Sun Soul Monk / Undying Light Warlock

Your reading of it is the same as mine. That's quite good.

    D&D 5E (2014) Optimizing a Dwarven Thrower build

Do you think you'll get a lot of use out of Protection? Do you think you'll always only throw your hammer? What if it doesn't show up? If you pretty confident that you'll be able to use Protection a lot, go for it, else, go for Dueling. I don't think it will help with the ranged attacks but it...

D&D 5E (2014) Help with planning level ups.

I have to disagree with anyone suggesting the Assassin-Rogue subclass. It doesn't have the same flavor as what was in 4e though nothing fits perfect in 4e, either. The key features of the Assassin from 4th edition were the Assassin's Shroud (a building amount of extra damage that is dealt when...

Unearthed Arcana Light, Dark, Underdark - November's Unearthed Arcana

I was about to correct you before I went and checked the Polearm Master feat to be sure and it clearly states it's an opportunity attack. I thought for certain that it was a reaction-using non-OA attack, like Mage Slayer and Sentinel have. Speaking of Sentinel, that 0 speed effect will likely...

D&D 5E (2014) Help me create Support Paladin

Resilience Con is to help you keep your Concentration spells up, which you've likely got a few good ones that help your party. Half-Elf is a strong choice for Paladins but so is Human Variant. Also, take a good look at spells you want to take and use often. Make sure you're not too reaction...

Hybrid E-classes: must they take E-Encounter power?

You are not forced to take it but have the option of doing so at encounter levels.

    D&D 5E (2014) Mediation, Meditation, Devastation: A Monk's Guide

The 17th level feature could be argued to be both combat and exploration but you are pretty much correct in this. That's a big surprise, actually.

    D&D 5E (2014) Mediation, Meditation, Devastation: A Monk's Guide

Sun Soul looks really fun to me. Further encourages the hit and run playstyle (you only have to get within 30, no spending ki for disengage!) and you deal radiant damage. I'm definitely interested to see what the resident expert has to say.
