D&D General Do you think video gamers experience existential crises over the nature of Hit Points?

I've been confused by things that aren't hit points but are in some ways similar (stamina or magic points, that sort of thing) a few times but as long as the gameplay is fine, I generally don't linger on it. Meanwhile in TTRPGs, I wish hit points would either shrink significantly or just go away.

Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker Box Office Predictions

I agree with this for sure. It being the end of the saga isn't going to draw as many seats as returning to the saga after so many years did. I think it will almost definitely do better than Rogue One and likely will do better than TLJ.

D&D General Things to Find in a Large River?

    Freshwater octopuses.

D&D 5E (2014) Clothing for Change Shape for Monsters

I let it be part of the transformation if the creature wants it to be. Keeps it simple.

D&D 5E (2014) Battle Domain, Shock Arcanist, Darkweaver & Mountaineer Archetypes feedback wanted

I'm also a backer of the game and already looked at these once. I didn't manage to play much of the demo, sadly, but enjoyed what I had seen. Video games and TT are different experiences, though, so a few of my thoughts. Battle Domain Divine Fortitude being a CD-limited power and also limited...

    D&D 5E (2014) Version 5.25 -- what do you change?

Expertise for extremely important class skill seems like an excellent way to go. My initial reaction is to suggest that all wizards get expertise in Arcana automatically, and that all Clerics get expertise in religion automatically but thinking about it a bit, player choice is better. This...

D&D General Generate a One Page Dungeon with One Click!

I really like this aspect as well. I kind of wish it would be less likely to get a path around those locked doors afterward but that's easy enough to modify if I use the map in a game.

    D&D 5E (2014) Archetype-Multiclass option initial concept

Levels without gaining some feature, even a very basic one, are boring. It makes it feel like you aren't actually advancing.

    ZEITGEIST 5e Conversion

There is an official conversion guide https://media.wizards.com/2015/downloads/dnd/DnD_Conversions_1.0.pdf It does have some advice on remaking some abilities like racial powers, and refers to "Modifying a Class" in chapter 9 of the DMG if you want to build a class that's closer to what was in...

    Nah, pizza-box themed dice box.

    D&D 5E (2014) Version 5.25 -- what do you change?

Subclasses moved to level 1. Class/subclass features offer choices to be made within the class at most levels. Change up how ability scores are done. Either using something like the PF2E method or the Starfinder method, but maxed at 16 for starting scores. (I'd also like to just get rid of...

[TRAILER] Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

The one shot with just so many ships has me really excited to see those on screen for probably like twenty seconds.

D&D Beyond video they talked about how Rune Knight was originally the Giant Sorcerer.

D&D General Which ability score would you like to increase to 18 in real life?

Interesting to see no one really caring about strength so far.

    D&D 5E (2014) Conjuring flying swords

Spiritual Weapon from the Cleric list would be a good fit. You could lower the damage and modify it to make multiple weapons instead of scaling damage with spell slots to better fit the concept, maybe.

D&D 5E (2014) What Seven Classes Would You Keep? (and why!)

I don't actually care that much about the big 4. I think rogues are nice to keep but fighters are generally sort of boring, other spellcasters are more interesting than wizards. Clerics I keep because I think monks, druids, rangers, maybe even warlocks can actually be slotted into the chassis...

Unearthed Arcana New Unearthed Arcana: Rune Knight, Swarmkeeper, The Revived

You can disengage if there is no one threatening you. It removes opportunity attacks for the entire turn, not just from people you start adjacent to. You can also dash without actually using the additional movement. Hide is probably the one bit in Cunning Action you can't just take whenever...

Unearthed Arcana New Unearthed Arcana: Rune Knight, Swarmkeeper, The Revived

You can't dodge with cunning action. You could hide but then you'd immediately lose it. You could disengage, which helps with the being ranged in melee issue with something like a crossbow. Dash is useful for ranged as well, especially since you need to be somewhat close to use the special...

D&D 5E (2014) Time to remake the Bard

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but for those that like using the warlock chassis. Maybe a muse instead of a patron? That might not fit into everyone's view of the bard but I rather like it. The muse isn't necessarily a powerful being, but through their existence and relation to the bard, the...
