    Death & XP Earned

Depending on when he would drop would depend on the amount of xp as per my examples above. True, maybe that shot would've dropped someone else, but maybe it wouldn't have, but if it did then they'd get truncated xp themselves. *I should say though, if that's the way you prefer to run it(and...

    Death & XP Earned

Agreed. Also agreed, those characters are still conscious and/or participated in some way - my question was geared to more what do you do when you Fighter gets mauled by that Orge's club (massive damage for example) in the first round of combat and dies; would you give him full XP for the...

    Death & XP Earned

Our groups are usually mixed levels due to people choosing either a human or a +1LA race, level buyoffs, templates, etc. But everyone is for the most part within 2 levels of each other (mixed between a couple 8's, 9's and a 10 right now, only the 10 is a human/non-LA race). The nature of the...

    Death & XP Earned

So the answers I found between the PHB and DMG weren't very satisfactory; PHB says anyone who takes part in an encounter (even if unconscious) should be awarded XP, and the DMG says something along the line that once a character is brought back from a death they should be awarded any of the...

    Martial Arcanist Build

I'll let others who know more tell you about the classes, my question for you though is do you have to worry about multiclass experience penalties? ...I wish our current group would just rule it out but it wasn't a unanimous vote - now every build I look at I check to see how bad leveling would...

Wild Empathy + Diplomacy = teach tricks?

LOL yes, yes you do. Hadn't seen it mentioned so just wanted to throw them out there. I only learned about them in the last year or so - but I'd never had a pet/mount/animal companion to worry about it for. I usually use ACF's to replace a Pally's mount or Ranger's AC.

D&D 3.x 3.5e: Bludgeoning reach weapon other than Ramhammer?

I think in the FR campaign setting there is an order of monks that can multiclass freely between Monk and Fighter - that may work to be able to dip Fighter for 2-4 levels.

    Another "Dominate" question

PureGoldx58: ah pooy! even elves like naps, they just call it "meditating" lol I was thinking about that also... someone wouldn't stand there and close their eyes and try to fall asleep. Is it possible to fall asleep standing up and does it happen? Yeah sure, but usually only under...

    Another "Dominate" question

...another fairly simple concept taken to extremes. 'to the best of their abilities' and 'to the exclusion of all other activities except those necessary for day-to-day survival (such as sleeping, eating, and so forth)' should be easy enough to implement. To the best of your abilities would...

Wild Empathy + Diplomacy = teach tricks?

I agree with Arrowhawk on hiring someone to train the animal or buying one pre-trained - also look at the Magebred and Warbeast templates if your DM allows them. One or both of them can turn a normal animal into a killer beast pretty quickly.

    D&D 3.x 3.5 polymorph/wildshape/etc question regarding weight

maybe a good way to do it then would be to count the encumbrance that you have as your encumbrance once transformed? no, don't think that would work either because different animals have different strengths hence different encumbrance levels... that does seem like cheating the system though...

D&D 3.x 3.5e: Bludgeoning reach weapon other than Ramhammer?

Good points. I've never put a Monk build together though so haven't really looked through feats for them - oddly enough though I have been toying with the idea of a Fighter with a Greatspear and the Short Haft feat... may need to re-look at that using a Monk though!

D&D 3.x 3.5e: Bludgeoning reach weapon other than Ramhammer?

Isn't there a Goliath Hammer somewhere? Races of Stone seems like the book it'd be in but I don't have the books handy right now. Those videos on the three section staff make me want to run a monk with one... unfortunately without selling the group on ruling it a reach weapon it'd be kinda...

    Character build- is it legal?

I don't know if as a DM I'd let that work only for the fact the book says something to the effect that Druids are forbidden to teach the language to nondruids, and can't they lose their own Druid given powers for violating this? It's real iffy to me, away from my books right now so can't...

    D&D 3.x 3.5 polymorph/wildshape/etc question regarding weight

Agreed. That's how I'd rule it. But now I'm curious about the enchantment that would let a druid keep his armor even when wild shaped... that weight should probably still count if he has it.

'Cause others are cool enough to do it, another Dominate Question

I'd have to follow with your example of Olidammara and Heironeous - I'd rule that it depended on if the dominated Cleric was still acting within the dictates of his faith (and/or alignment) or not on whether his Deity granted spells for the day. It also depends on how heavily Deities...

    Druid's Venom Immunity

Another example of how one can misunderstand the 'tone' or 'intent' of the written word. ...Never mind, it's too easy. The similarities make me laugh though...

    Druid's Venom Immunity

Good find Kitcik! I don't think I would've ever thought of looking in the Book of Eldritch Might for something on poisons!
