Taking Greenflame Blade and Booming blade all the way

Stone Sorcerer would probably make a decent GFB/BB build. I've played an Arcane Trickster that spammed BB all the time and it was great! Hit them and run away.

Barbarian with Mobile and GWM Feats: as cool as it seems?

I think intelligent creatures usually want to take the Cleric and/or Paladin out first from what I've seen.

Barbarian with Mobile and GWM Feats: as cool as it seems?

I really like Mobile on Barbs, but not to run away as it's not a very barbarian-like thing to do. I agree with not wanting "just" a 16 Str so late also

A level 20 Wizard of each school vs each other in combat

The point was to drop ALL of the Wizards in an arena to fight each other. Man this must be one bored Sorcerer to force all these poor Wizards to fight each other like this lol

A level 20 Wizard of each school vs each other in combat

How does the one concentration spell ruin things? I agree to that. The Abjurer would survive that if not outright counterspell it. I know if I was the Evoker that would be the first thing I did though.

A level 20 Wizard of each school vs each other in combat

I thought about this too, but I'm not sure how Antimagic field interacts with ALL of the other features that the other wizards have. The Abjurer is a pacifist only if you rp it that way.

A level 20 Wizard of each school vs each other in combat

Well I'm gonna go with Abjurer because of the Arcane Ward, spell resistance, and all the best reaction spells that will be used every round are Abjuration spells that just keep the ward charged up.

A level 20 Wizard of each school vs each other in combat

So I'm fascinated by this theoretical battle so I'd like to see what everybody else thinks. Which school would come out on top if they all fought each other to the death? Lets say they're all stated with point buy with the 5 normal ASI/feat options. Race doesn't matter as long as they're all...

Players who think out of the box

Yeah I would never let the players know how many hit points it had As stated above, this is a high fantasy game where some classes can even overcome nearly infinite damage and not die. An 11th level Long Death Monk with 1 ki point can survive a nuclear blast at ground zero. Your players...

Graph Paper Romance: When D&D Characters Date

I know a guy who ALWAYS plays a pretty female character usually Human, Elf, or Half-Elf and it's kind of a running gag that everybody else's characters attempt to romance her lol I have played in a few campaigns with my wife and we have never gone down the romance route in game. Probably due to...

    The not quite TPK

I played in a campaign where, around level 3, all but one character died. Everybody rolled up new characters and the sole survivor recruited us to help his cause. Not long after, that remaining character got killed so we tried out best to continue the "story" but it fizzled quickly not having...

Quasits, Imps and Pseudo Dragons as familiars

I agree with this. For one thing, it's totally up to the DM. For another, I MAY let the player control one of the "good" aligned ones if his/her character is also good, but no way would I let the player control one of the evil ones. They have to be a WILLING servant which means that if an Imp...

Archfey Pact of the Chain Warlock Build

I like it. Really cool theme. If you want to multiclass, I recommend 7 levels of Oath of Conquest Paladin to really maximize the fear.

    stat points for a feat.

I've seen people rule that the Vhuman's free feat doesn't happen until level 4 and that seems to work. I think Vhuman is only OP from levels 1-3 and after that, the Half-Elf is typically superior with the extra skills and darkvision. I'd be more interested in making the standard human...

    Heavy Armor Master OR Toughness

I love HAM, but only if/when I can get it at level 1 with Variant Human. I could MAYBE see taking it at level 4 if you're wearing heavy armor and sitting at an odd Str, but I just cannot see taking it later than that at all. Tough is the opposite. I'd never take it at lower levels except in...

D&D 5E (2014) Paladin: Why Are They Often Considered Highly Powerful?

As much as I HATE the "use spell mod for attack and damage" shtick... A Paladin with a 1 level Hexblade dip is really strong mechanically. Sure, as with any multiclass, there will be that 1 level when you feel inferior, but the delay is not bad. I'm not going to play such a build though. I...

    Vengence Paladin/bladesinger build

Looks too MAD to me. With such a low Cha, I wouldn't bother with more than probably 2 Paladin levels. EK Fighter would probably synergize better, or any Rogue for that matter. Bladesinger/Arcane Trickster using Booming Blade is extremely strong.

D&D 5E (2014) Paladin: Why Are They Often Considered Highly Powerful?

All this talk about jealousy from other players, in my experiences, I've seen more players get jealous of my three different Tempest Clerics than any Paladin. Even my melee optimized Tempest ended up stealing the show more times than not. I do think that the 5e Paladin is the overall strongest...

How ridiculous is a Level 20 Abjur Wizard?

I agree that Abjurer and Divination seem to be the strongest Wizards overall, and I have seen both at low to mid levels and I'd also agree that Diviner seem to be a little stronger in the mid levels. I've never seen either at high levels but Abjur appears to be much stronger from 14-20. Kinda...

    D&D 5E (2014) Which is a good Domain for a new player's Cleric?

Life or War involve the least amount of thinking. I'd probably choose Life if I had to choose one.
