AD&D 1E Do you miss Demons and Devils?

That last dude looks like a rock and roll star. I think its difficult when you produce so much detail, such that you have to make them modest with a loin cloth, versus less detail leaving the viewer to use their imagination, e.g. the Balrog in LOTR. One thing I never realized, Balor was the...

AD&D 1E Do you miss Demons and Devils?

While it may be I was younger, and so much more impressionable, but the original art, despite being black and white drawing, evokes more emotion of their power than the cutesy 5e version. I mean it is rocking a lightning bolt and a whip, and is covered in flames.

D&D 5E (2014) Why do cities in Faerun have fortified walls?

If you don't have walls, how are you going to collect taxes when people come in, or check to see if the Zhentarim are trying to slip past.

    Who’s a Sopranos fan?

Never got into it, by the time I would watch it, it feels a little dated. Just started watching Gomorrah though, I like it so far.

D&D General Why are there Good Monsters in the Monster Manual?

I think its similar to why there is so much put into adventure modules that is for the DM's eyes only. Because it is a book and is meant to be read, and one takes great pleasure in the reading, regardless of whether you use it in your game or not. To detail all the evil dragons and not...

    Fighting Fantasy origin story

https://unbound.com/books/games-workshop/ Dice Men Very excited to support this, especially getting a signed copy of a limited edition Warlock of Firetop Mountain. That book was my first ever fantasy RPGish book, where I was the hero :) I love how Ian Livingstone, like Ed Greenwood, is so...

Critical Role The Legend of Vox Machina: Bawdy, Bloody, and Funny

bro... lol don't confuse my beloved Tunnels and Trolls with that... The Professor's take echoes mine completely, and I he brought up a point I never thought about, that they would have to avoid mentioning anything that was Dungeons and Dragons (e.g. character classes) due to Copyright.

    D&D monster art styles

Not sure which kind of style this is, but when I had an artist redo Graz'zt (as the 5e version bothered me as being too far from my memories of 1e) they come up with this. Its a tiny bit cartoony for the face, but I really like the overall colors and feel.

AD&D 1E Do you miss Demons and Devils?

They are way less scary, quite mundane bag of hit points now, I think there devils used in Curse of Strahd as cannon fodder. TerraDaves post is a good comparison, of which I'll have to dig into deeper later.

is the ttrpg market swamped now? could you write a winner?

This dude makes over $35,000 per month for a 5e import/export between foundry and dndbeyond. Pretty funny considering I wrote most of that functionality in a few days for my website.

Critical Role The Legend of Vox Machina: Bawdy, Bloody, and Funny

lol, yes it was a very accurate representation of season 1 characters, Scanlan is a crude, over the top gnome who has done a lot worse on the live show. I think it is perfect for the couple of million of people who watched CR and for young adults. Probably the older generation aren't going to...
