[?] Battlestar Galactica the board game

Well, now that there is an expansion there's more to talk about - and basically two almost seperate games to play. First of all, BSG Two teams, 3-6 players. Allegiances are distributed randomly (by cards) and you're not allowed to reveal that (with some caveats of course). The humans hope to...

Star Trek: Chief of Security needed for a galaxy class vessel

I'd be interested in playing as a junior/enlisted. Other than seeing the show, I don't know much about Star Trek; and I've never played the RPG and I've never done a PbP game so I would kinda need some tips on those. How often does the forum need to be checked? Etc.

    D&D 3.x 3.5e Rogue/Cleric

The point of being evil in this case was for a bit of RP thing in the world, that has kind of been ignored at this point. I could have easily done a good / neutral clr/rogue The domains I currently have are Evil and Trickery. I really like the Mystic Exemplar and the Divine Trickster and will...

    D&D 3.x 3.5e Rogue/Cleric

I like the idea of using Divine Insight. Handy for bumping all those skills that suffer from multiclassing. I should note that I originally thought of doing a necromancer to fill this role, but they are a burden to play and fairly obnoxious (and obvious). Not to mention they need pretty...

    D&D 3.x 3.5e Rogue/Cleric

For a recent game I've decided (and built) a rogue/cleric character. I'd like to hear if the community's thoughts on how to be build a similarly classed build, or if you want, comments on the work I've done. What I have now: Rogue 2 / Cleric 3 (starting level is 5) Whisper Gnome...

    Comatose Computer...

I would check the memory first (quick, no muss checK) using memtest86. It can be downloaded on it's own, or comes package with certain linux live cds (such as ubuntu). If it's not a memory problem, backup the computer and repair windowsas Thanee mentioned. If it persists it can be either...

What do you think D&D is missing?

skills should be consolidated. fewer skills == more opportunity to make use of what you have. I've enjoyed playing systems with fewer skills in the past, and would like to see that in D&D. In regards to the player involvement mentioned by Hussar, there is a game called Victoriana which...

    Simple question about surprise

I agree with your ruling. If a party of characters enter a dungeon (or whatever else) and they know combat or another form of danger is pretty much assured, then of course they'll be "ready" for it as much as possible (buffs, etc.). However, if you do not know where an enemy is, you cannot do...

Making a mount fight in combat

From the d20srd <QUOTE> Fight with Warhorse If you direct your war-trained mount to attack in battle, you can still make your own attack or attacks normally. This usage is a free action. </QUOTE> So, it's a free action to let the mount know it should be attacking an enemy. When you direct it...

    Multi-armed races for PCs

Hi, I was thinking about making a multi-armed fighter and the only race I could find that was suitable is the Thri-kreen (+1 or +2 LA), and I was wondering if anybody else knows of other races suitable for this sort of character deal. Thanks

Poll: How Often Should Saves be Successful?

I feel that a good save should be successful about 60% of the time a poor save should be successful about 35% of the time I concur that monsters should have a slightly better chance of succeeding no theier saves. I feel this way as both a dm and a player.

    What is 'normal' for you?

my group's game usually consist of -6-9 players + DM -4-6hr sessions -almost 100% homebrew -fairly free reign of books / rules -- though, no BoED, BoVD, etc. (DM-style books). Psionics are rare - long campaigns with mostly weekly meetings - fairly little in the way of house rules - depending on...

    Why does everyone hate drow?

I personally don't hate drow and of all those I play with they don't specifically hate drow. Sometimes they seem a little overused, but that's not really any reason to hate them. To me, most of the hatred towards drow stems from the fact people like to make Drizzt rip-offs and some people just...

    Drinking at the Game Table?

We tried one session that let people drink - mostly it was an unwritten rule especially since we didn't have any on hand. It was a relaxed evening, two people had their birthdays that same day - so it was more of a get together. We all got about 1 hour of game in, partly because we then got...

    Exalted Question

Hi, An acquaintance of mine suggested that I start playing the Exalted system. I've mostly heard of this system in passing, and have never tried it before. My question to those of you that know it is: Do you play it(yes or no), and why - what features the system it has, how smoothly the...

D&D 3.x Can a Monk use the Improved Natural Attack feat (from the MM 3.5)

Ah... the smell of controversy! I guess most of my different viewpointi on this issue comes in because I've actually played a monk that took this feat and I've tryed this. It was not an attempt to power game the monk or anything like that, which it could very well appear to be. So, yes, it...

D&D 3.x Can a Monk use the Improved Natural Attack feat (from the MM 3.5)

I actually see the opposite to Patryn and the others because a human has a vriety of natural weapons, just we aren't really trained to use then. If you want to get down to it, we have our fists and feet of course - which if you've been in any fight without weapons are the obvious choices to...
