D&D 5E (2014) Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

I don't trust anyone in the modern MMO landscape to get it right. All the MMOs generally cited as the best are like 15 to 20 years old & most of them have changed hands at least once.

WotC WotC (Mistakenly) Issues DMCA Takedown Against Baldur's Gate-themed Stardew Valley Mod

The complicity of youtube in platforming awful people is rather beyond the scope of this thread, but it's difficult to overstate how much of a bad look it is that WOTC hired a company known for being so brutal that the US Government made it illegal for themselves to hire them.

D&D General Former WotC Employee Greg Bilsland Returning to D&D?

Maybe Chris Perkins was right when he said he felt the future of D&D was in good hands--Cao leaving, Bilsland returning. Makes me a bit more optimistic about their upcoming products.

D&D 5E (2024) WotC Unveils Dragon Delves' Eclectic Art Styles

    I wasn't until I realized it was a wyrmling.

D&D 5E (2024) WotC Unveils Dragon Delves' Eclectic Art Styles

I'm hoping the bronze dragon is heavily zoomed in because the background is way too blurry and indistinct if that's all of/most of the image.

My favorite is the black dragon. Fantastic piece.

WotC Chris Cao has left WotC

For what it's worth, the insider talk was that Cao was behind a lot of the bad decisions WOTC made with the OGL crisis and was one of the driving forces behind the Sigil VTT... so with both those initiatives DOA it's not surprising he's out. Has to find something else he can egregiously monetize.

Level Up (A5E) A5E First Impressions

It sounds to me like they're essentially asking 'which button do I press', but in general that's your decision. The players should be telling you what they want to do like "I flex my muscles to make him think twice about coming at me" or "I'm going to blend into the crowd and act very casual"...

Wait she's okay with killing orcs and goblins even if they're not a threat?

D&D 5E (2024) Anyone else dislike the "keyword" style language of 5.24?

Keywords are good, but think the bigger issue is the way they are implemented in 5.24 is kind of clumsy. It's trying to mix natural language and mechanical language together in ways that can be kind of awkward to read and write.

New R.A. Salvatore Novel, Starring Drizzt's Daughter, Title and Synopsis Revealed

So it's like naming a kid John Zane and giving him the nick name John Z or Johnzy. Edit: I guess that confirms Drizz't and Cattie Brie are from the American accented part of Faerun.

WotC WotC (Mistakenly) Issues DMCA Takedown Against Baldur's Gate-themed Stardew Valley Mod

I guess that only applies to WOTC adventures because isn't Dimension 20 beyond a paywall?

WotC WotC (Mistakenly) Issues DMCA Takedown Against Baldur's Gate-themed Stardew Valley Mod

Could you imagine if 'defend it or lose it' was a real thing in this era of streaming D&D games. "Welp, we didn't act ten years ago so I guess Matt Mercer owns mind flayers and Vecna now."

D&D 5E (2014) Why is no one talking about THE BOOK OF MANY THINGS?

Do tell. I've heard more complaints about Phandelver II: Obelisk Boogaloo and Vecna. TFW's reception was more positive IME. Not played any of them myself.

WotC WotC (Mistakenly) Issues DMCA Takedown Against Baldur's Gate-themed Stardew Valley Mod

Yeah you can. Take Two and Nintendo do it all the time. Entire GTA remaster projects have been shut down because Take Two wanted to sell their crappy AI-upscaled remaster.

    D&D General Limiting Utility Cantrips

IMO cantrips aren't really relevant to D&D's balance issues. If it did become a problem I'd maybe limit them to PB times per day. Honestly the only cantrip I've ever seen become an issue is Guidance and I honestly think it should be a first level spell that works like Bless but for Ability Checks.
