    Battlemind, Seeker, and Runepriest

I don't own Essentials, and have no intention of buying. What I'm doing is literally modifying my own books to make the classes more palatable, so getting rid of the Seeker in favor of the Hunter would be counterproductive. For those of you who are wondering, yes my books are very marked up...

    Battlemind, Seeker, and Runepriest

So Battleminds need an MBA. Give Seekers Expert Archery in addition to his At-Wills? Find a way to give Rune Priests better healing? Thanks guys, I appreciate it!

    Battlemind, Seeker, and Runepriest

I'm currently looking at modifying my Player's books on these three classes. What are the principle flaws of the class?

Legends and Lore: Head of the Class

Interesting. I'm now interested in looking at 2nd Edition (I was introduced to DnD during the 3rd edition shift to 3.5). But if Mearls goes in that direction for the next edition I'd be very happy to go with him there when that happens.

Legends and Lore: Head of the Class

Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game Official Home Page - Article (Head of the Class) I'm liking the direction of this article, honestly. I do wish that they had done Essentials first, but what they're saying makes sense. Makes me want to design that way for my homebrew.

How Can a DM Encourage Roleplaying?

I don't know how industrious you are, but I always find that whenever someone doesn't give me a backstory I make one up. People start getting ideas about their back stories fast when you inform them that their amnesiac character is suspected of being a succubus. If they complain, inform them...

    D&D 4E The "We Can't Roleplay" in 4E Argument

I find that this problem is solved by one person doing two things. Here's the recipe. What you need: A live DM, who can read. Page 42 of the DM's Guide. Directions: Read page 42, and constantly suggest cool stuff to do to your players. Repeat as often as desired, ad nauseum. The last game...

    Looking - Southern Chicago Suburbs

Who, Telos? Yeah, that'd be me. :)

One of my characters now serves a villain, and I'd like some suggestions

I think it would be cool to actually make the Bandit King a little more grey than thought previously. Y'know, give him a mother that likes to send him fuzzy hats in the mail, or something like that (granted, without the humor, but still). I think that if you give these people a reason to like...

    Looking - Southern Chicago Suburbs

I know I'm ridiculously late, but I'm interested in gaming, and am in your area (according to this handy dandy thingy Morrus set up) Saga Edition sounds really nice. I replied to the Gamers thread too, but in case you're interested drop me a PM.

    Monster vault: I has it

How do damage and hp compare between MM1 and MV?

    Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdoms

Love the new pally mark. It finally penalizes shifting! And the encounter power they get is really nice too. I'd ask questions, but I have a feeling that I should just sit back and watch. This could be good.

New Ampersand - future stuff (DDi)

The new format is better, but it's a bit jarring at the moment. Overall it's clearer, and that's what matters.

Pathfinder 1E Finally Looked at the Pathfinder Rules...

That is a good point, and of course I do that anyway. After the current 4th game I'm in I'll probably start in a Shadowrun. But I was more asking what the difference between Pathfinder and 4th were in terms of stories, because the two really do feel as different as they can be, I'm just not sure...

Pathfinder 1E Finally Looked at the Pathfinder Rules...

Well, after playing 4th again for the first time in a few weeks I thought I'd do a little bit of what I'd found. I played a level 12 split stat paladin of Bane today, and it was awesome. He was generating temp hp out the wazoo and his marks were next to impossible to ignore. While it's true...

Pathfinder 1E Finally Looked at the Pathfinder Rules...

This isn't supposed to be an edition war thread, but just a look at the Pathfinder system as a 4th edition lover.A combination of power gamers and the lackluster paladin class really turned me off to third edition, so I was one of the people who jumped ship at the first announcement of 4th...

Core Rule Books Only - What system would you play?

I'd honestly go with 4th. My first campaign in that setting was from 1st-30th, and with just the Core books it the best gaming experiences I'd ever had. That and epic tier was nothing short of amazing. Tied for first is Mutants and Masterminds, depending on my mood.

    Has Lovecraft become required reading?

...and of course I happen to post right after the guy who appreciates Lovecraft's prose. I don't think Lovecraft is essential. Read The Call and was not impressed at all. While I understand he's had a positive influence on the game I plan on never reading him again.

Dragon 382 - Winning Races: Dusk Elf

Long as they do this for other races I'm perfectly OK with it. And besides, there's some nice stuff in this article, both in crunch and in fluff. Elves just became some of the best avengers/assassins, moreso than before...
