In 2007, how did you see hits and hit points?

I prefer to think of Hit Points as a slight variation of 1#, and the growth of it as growing accoustomed to danger and becoming "better at living", so to say. I go by the pseudo-logic that you can usually shake a wound off if you take one of those every day. Living beings, humans included, can...

Warlocks are too anime and overpowered

I can't help but notice the Avatar.

How often do sex and romance come up in your games?

Almost nonexistent. Ol' BoEF just sits on my shelf:(

Warlocks are too anime and overpowered

Heh. (Deleted rest of post when realized it's a joke. Dozen needs more points in Sense Motive...)

How to keep demons out of harm's way in the Abyss?

No clue. I wasn't even born yet when First Ed came out. This is only what I've gathered about it. But now I'm curious myself, so I'll look deep into the hole. Edit: Man, I actually said this. Wasn't even on purpose! XD

    Sense Motive vs Bluff

Okay, first, I have to say that would be hilarious :D Flipped my day 180 degrees. Second, it doesn't say you'd have to stay and stare at them. Common sense dictates that action would involve you thinking about what he said and done. If multiple checks are involved, I'd be doing that for a long...

    Sense Motive vs Bluff

I'm starting to notice a pattern. What you are saying is every single time is, 'X isn't Y because I say so without any backup to my claim whatsoever'.

    Sense Motive vs Bluff

Okay, I call bullpies again. In the context presented, this phrase IS misleading, and also I'm getting bored YOU always rephrasing essentally the same claim in a way our previous statements doesn't counter it so WE have to rephrase the yet again essentally same claim. What you are stating is...

    Sense Motive vs Bluff

Huh. That'd mean that all examples of misleading brought up earlier do require a Bluff check. Good find.

How to keep demons out of harm's way in the Abyss?

It was mentioned way back in First Ed. Supposedly, the Demon Lord Feistus rules over it, who converts or captures concubines of all races and both gender to serve in his army as seducors and living shields, and when they aren't fighting, they live on this mess of a plane. It's actually a city...

How long, in-game, does it take to gain a level? (RttToEE)

Getting into specifics when in a race of time is hard to accomplish, but it's not as horrible as Nezkrul explains. Still, your safest bet, as loathsome as it is, would be a kind of shade-of-grey railroading; that is, no matter what path the players choose, they'd get enough XP to burn trough...

    Sense Motive vs Bluff

I don't think it is. You're confusing me with Sekhmet. But a high enough Sense Motive lets you see through a lie. From the SRD: "For instance, if the target gets a +10 bonus on its Sense Motive check because the bluff demands something risky, and the Sense Motive check succeeds by 10 or less...

How to keep demons out of harm's way in the Abyss?

Since the beguiler gets some illusions outside his spellist, I'd recommend Nightmare Terrain for you to take next time you have a chance. It doesn't do damage, but it's a strong debuff and lets you play ranger-in-a-can given you have points in hide.

    Sense Motive vs Bluff

In a nutshell, assuming the bartender is an assassin: Scenario A: Bartender is lying. You roll an opposed Sense Motive against his Bluff. You either find out he's lying(by passing the check by 11 or more), notice something fishy(by simply passing it) or don't find out anything at all. Later...

    Sense Motive vs Bluff

Uhh. No. There are so many things wrong with this assumption I don't even know where to start opposing it. Maybe you could elaborate on your reasoning?

Please. It's hard to act like grownups all the time. And damn unnecessary! ;)

    Sense Motive vs Bluff

I think Greenfield's last post summed it up neatly. Point considered proven. Ansest1s, in this latter scenario, yes, there is a Bluff check involved, and thus rolling an opposed Sense Motive is a valid answer.

    Sense Motive vs Bluff

I meant "What the are you talking about?!". And please refrain from unecessary harshness. I'm all in for profanity, but hurling insults just causes flamewars. We're trying to prove the same point, after all. By all means, we should be bud-bud over at least this.

    Sense Motive vs Bluff

What Sekhmet is claiming in his last post is true. You have to spend time on a Hunch check. He did not. Your paladin may have used Hunch, but since what the innkeeper said is not a falsehood (not even a statement, actually), he did not use Bluff, and there was no check to oppose as such.

    Sense Motive vs Bluff

I have to agree with Greenfield. Hunch should be able to detect the presence of a mislead, and that includes the "I haven't seen him today" example. Sense Motive is what it says on the tin. If your motive is to give a dodge answer to avoid a question, it can be sensed with it, since it's...
