    Sense Motive vs Bluff

You're misunderstanding. He means that person B Knows where John is, and intentionally avoids the question by saying something that implies he doesn't. This is called a mislead, and does count as a kind of deception -one of the few kinds Lawful folk may consider approvable. And since it's...

How to keep demons out of harm's way in the Abyss?

I have to agree. I'm curious about how your fellow players are handling your unorthodox adventuring ways, by the way. We can't discuss that here, but you can PM me, so long it's not a bother, of course.

    Sense Motive vs Bluff

What you're looking for is the Hunch. By RAW, a DC 20 Sense Motive tells whether or not there is something going on regardless of the Bluff check that may be involved. What you find out about this way doesn't even have to be a lie; it can be a secret he's hiding or some other, not obvious fishy...

Help with a crossbow build tips

Not that I've seen much people without Defending Armor Spikes in the last decade, but this build won't be all that high on Strength. Let's say spikes and a bayonet.

How to keep demons out of harm's way in the Abyss?

Imprisoning demons? That's not merciful, that's the most twisted act of malevolence I heard of in a long time. Those guys would rather die and join their essence with their home plane than to be tied down against their will without a chance to have fun for a single minute, let alone infinity...

Help with a crossbow build tips

For a melee backup, you might want to consider bayonets from Complete Scoundrel. A Cb with a sword bayonet doubles as a non-throwable spear. I'd also drop the attack penalty on'em(bluntly put, it's nonsense), though a -2 is something you can handle.

    Are demons/devils living creatures?

O-kaay, you've missed several things. First, I think you might have violated at least one copyright law just now. Don't quote stuff from books, man. BoED is not part of the SRD, nor it is published under the OGL. Secondly, and I can't believe someone actually thinks this is not the case, Turn...

Help me list spells that make skills irrelevant.

Someone said my name?:) There's Eyes of the Avoral that gives bonus to Spot checks. Third party Cloak of Fears gives Intimidate bonus. Only useful at higher levels. Listening Lorecall boosts your hearing only a small bit, but if you have ranks in Listen in addition to that, it also gives...

    Help with a 3.x Undead-killing Bard

Metamagic Rods I like. Thanks!:D Wanna see the build when it's ready?

    Help with a 3.x Undead-killing Bard

*sigh* Yeah. Bards have it hard. I found some fairly good options since, but in the end the best I could take are still the old meta feats and boring DDs to buff the light spells. Dissapointing:( Maybe I should build upon Song of the Dead+Debuff Enchantments instead with maxed necromancy. Meh...

    Help with a 3.x Undead-killing Bard

An Evil spell either comes from an evil source, or does something evil. Spells (or stuff like them save for invocations) originating from Evil outsiders should always be Evil. The WotC guys and a lot of other publishers just made a habit of forgetting about their own rules, ala mindless natives...

    Help with a 3.x Undead-killing Bard

I think I get your point, but I don't see it. Even if she had devil blood, what's the benefit in depending on it? A sonic ability? As a bard, she can get a lot of those. Without the risk of damnation due to spamming unarguably evil magic, I might add. Because the Neutral Evil afterlife? You...

    Help with a 3.x Undead-killing Bard

Oh, okay, sorry. You see, I take alignment very seriously. I don't expect my players to understand and follow it all the time(anymore:blush:), but I always well define my NPCs- This way I know what would they do in depth. True Neutral(Evil) supposed to mean a True Neutral character with Evil...

    Help with a 3.x Undead-killing Bard

Power as in controlling them, not kicking their arse. And does it horribly. I could just take Song of The Dead(P.S.: I will), an enchantment spell and do the exact same thing better than the poor guy. Of course, I want to max out AC just like everyone else!:) A mithral Breastplate with some...

    Help with a 3.x Undead-killing Bard

I think I'll go with the third. I've already thought of Divine Bard; sadly, it's no use. Also, not much good I have to say about monks, but they are damn hard to kill compared to bards with those saves and AC. Make it the Pathfinder version and I'd be terrified of 'em. Not the best example...

    Help with a 3.x Undead-killing Bard

Hmm... I haven't considered Reserve feats. Yeah, I think I might make use of at least one of those, thank you!:) I'm not sure about a sorcerer though, especially not the Battle variant. Fighting in the front lines with a Con of ten is a bad idea; might as well go for a normal sorcerer, and I...

    Help with a 3.x Undead-killing Bard

Hello everyone! This is my first post here on EN World, hopefully I did everything as I was supposed to. There is this Bard NPC I had in mind for quite some time. The idea behind her reason for adventuring would be that she was haunted by undead in her early years, a certain weaker ghost in...
