Things That Make You Say, "Ouch!"

Well, I'll be damned. Should have played a sorcerer before opening my stupid mouth. Good point. I meant you should craft a hollow bullet. Doesn't have to be magical.

    Bring 'Um Back Alive?

And what are the chances of a cleric being willing to raise corpses for entertainment in trade of payment? That would be a sidequest per raise even with the most corrupt cleric of the realm who just so happens to hang around in the king's court. Awesome, yet practical>Boring, but practical. Not...

    Bring 'Um Back Alive?

Not viable that early. Also, boring. Can I?:D Say the word, I don't have a lot to do.

    Bring 'Um Back Alive?

Assuming a non-good party(obviously good guys would have qualms about locking Sprites up in a zoo): 1. Craft a box out of gypsum(so the box or the hand holding it does not burn to smitherines). Extinguish all fires in a considerable area, and lit fire(Preferably a Continual Flame, given you can...

Ideas for adventure path for the plane of Limbo

Exactly, that's why I say it was made up in-universe. That's new for me. Thanks for filling me in, I'm making notes. Of course, if it wasn't for the strong opposition against CE outsiders, existence would be torn apart in short notice. But that's what I'm saying. Nobody opposes the Baatezu...

Ideas for adventure path for the plane of Limbo

Hold that thought. I don't consider a good trashing on stupidity 'bullying'. That is not against me, that's against a statement. Arguments never should be about who is right, even though some people seem to think so. They are about finding out what is right. I'm only a fresh recruit to...

Question about Stacking of positive energy aura of Vivacious creatures.

So it basically boils down to the same conflict deific auras have. I see. That makes sense. I sure hope so too! I wonder whose he'll pick in the end. We've both made compelling arguments.

Question about Stacking of positive energy aura of Vivacious creatures.

It's fine to prefer an instance to the other, but then I ask: Where did the remaining energy go if the effect doesn't 'stack'? Surely there has to be a logically sound explanation.

Are my newer posts invisible? I admitted it is only true in Planescape! I was wrong! I'm sorry! Please stop bullying meT-T

Question about Stacking of positive energy aura of Vivacious creatures.

And it doesn't^^! Neither did I suggest, the notion is silly. The auras themselves don't merge into one 'uber-aura'. They remain independent of each other. That doesn't make a part of the positive energy disappear into nothingness where the auras touch. Think of it this way: One creature each...

Question about Stacking of positive energy aura of Vivacious creatures.

...I really hope you did not intend to say that as it sounded like in my head. In case you did, rest assured, while I have attention whore qualities, I am not a troll. There is a point to arguing with me, and please do. The rules do not give us leeway over this. We know for a fact that Healing...

Ideas for adventure path for the plane of Limbo

Don't misunderstand, what I spout here are Planescape rules. In any setting where belief has no effect on the planes, my little presentation of slaadi couldn't be more false, while in Planescape, what I described is the only way the world can work at all. That's why I like Planescape, reality is...

Question about Stacking of positive energy aura of Vivacious creatures.

There are no rules for this specific situation because WoTC expect you to have some common sense! If two clerics heal you at the same time, you don't get only one of the healing effects. Where would the hit points you didn't get go, anyway? Energy doesn't just disappear! That wouldn't only...

Question about Stacking of positive energy aura of Vivacious creatures.

Hit points don't 'stack'. They aren't bonuses or penalties in themselves, you either have them or you don't. Multiple auras deal/heal damage separately, as two fighters hitting you with a sword each at the same time.

Things That Make You Say, "Ouch!"

Green dragon tear seems redundant. Why not put mundane acid in a mundane container and spare yourself the trouble? Also, (Melf's) Acid Arrow is a second level spell for both the Sorcerer and the Wizard, craft costs should be the same for both classes.

    Help with balancing gameplay?

Definitely, I see your point. Yet, it takes time to adapt. Unless the DM bends the laws of reality so the appropriate challenge just happens to show up for the encounter, their adversaries need a few weeks to realize they need a change of tactics, then to learn and train, find hirelings and...

    Help with balancing gameplay?

Sure you can, but the player doesn't deserve it. Handcrafting encounters so his best ability becomes nigh-useless is a strong punishment, and he didn't exactly optimize the Nine Hells out of his build, either. He's not being inconsiderate. It's just a genuine accident. No reason to be harsh on him.

    Help with balancing gameplay?

At this point? Best you can do is ask the Scout's player to give the rest a little lesson in book mastery. Normally, I do not condone players goin two tiers above the weakest character in the party, but you already let the sniper in. Taking away from him when he hasn't done anything wrong is...

You're doing what? Surprising the DM

Hmm. Without precedent? No idea. My players never did the sor-:heh:. Now seriously, I expect them to exploit the system when- and wherever they can as a DM. A day without the party's Artificer crafting an army of constructs made of chopsticks is downright dissapointing. And me? I'm the worst of...

    What do you do when...

I concur. Spur of the moment decisions have nothing to do with your intelligence. Common sense and instinct file under Wisdom. Obviously, they knew what their own abilities are capable of, even mindless creatures would get it after a few times. They'd need to be foolish for this, not stupid.
