    Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder 2nd Edition

the way monsters are presented in the Monster Manual, they are harder to adjust, because you don't see the underlying stats that are not shown, just the combat modifiers. With pathfinder, you can see how each monster is built and you can change the monsters by altering the stats, and it is more...

    Human Only Game Worlds

Was Conan really humans only? I seem to recall from the movies that there were some monsters in it.

    Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder 2nd Edition

Pathfinder has a more detailed set of rules for creating monsters. Monsters, NPCs, and Player Characters all have the same set of stats. In 5e they are separate, and in Starfinder they are separate. I like Pathfinder because it has stayed true to the 3.5 concept, if there is a second edition...

    Human Only Game Worlds

I suppose you could use any of the historical game supplements. Do you want to play in Ancient Rome or Ancient Greece? How about A Mighty Fortress? There is Crusades era gaming. Most historical supplements have low levels of magic and no monsters.

    Human Only Game Worlds

I guess your not counting intelligent monsters as races other than human. What about giants, trolls, hobgoblins, and dragons, do they count as races?

    Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder 2nd Edition

How many of you like plunking another $150 for another 3 main core rulebooks? I've got mine! I like playing 3.5 D&D too, I'd much rather they publish more adventures than more editions of their game, force you to learn new rules, but hey, if you like learning new rules, there is always 4th and...

Custom Race Idea.... The Living Weapon

Okay, how about this example, a gladiator, that is a slave? gladiators aren't nobles, who do you think would do better with a sword? An experienced gladiator who has defeated many foes in the arena or a knight in shining armor? knights have their own sort of arena called the tournament. So would...

Custom Race Idea.... The Living Weapon

So you imagine a sword that is looking for a "haughty and snobby knight" with a lot of breeding, or shall I say inbreeding, to wield it! It is interesting how the image of nobility has evolved from the 11th century to the 18th century. In the 18th century nobles of foppish people in white...

Custom Race Idea.... The Living Weapon

You have to think about what would really happen in a World with magic and multiple gods and goddesses, not just what the King would like to happen. What the King wants is some sort of divine sanction to rule his kingdom, so why should the gods give it to him? Are the gods nothing but...

Custom Race Idea.... The Living Weapon

You know stories such as King Arthur is a bit of propaganda to justify the rule of kings. But a fantasy world is bigger than just one kingdom, and in other parts of the world, Nobility is not recognized. Genghis Khan for instance, didn't care about he nobility of the knights he was fighting when...

Custom Race Idea.... The Living Weapon

Sir Isaac Newton was a peasant, he was probably one of the smartest people that lived at his time, he was knighted after his brilliance became evident. Isaac Newton had a peasant's bloodline, he was not of noble birth, it was by raw intelligence that he rose to the top. In a magical world...

Well they are called "intelligent weapons", seems like they should be a character if they are played properly.

Yes, me too! I am working on a map of Europe that maybe could be used in this setting. It is a hex map showing terrain features. I am lifting off the labels, so using this map you could label it however you want.

    D&D 3.x D20 Pirates Blog--Updated

There is a good case for Atlantis being Crete. The Term "Minos" is where the word "Minotaur" comes from. The first Minotaur was supposedly a Minoan prince who was cursed by the gods, or so the legend goes. Since the geology of Homeworld and Earth appears to be the same, maybe there was also a...

    D&D 3.x D20 Pirates Blog--Updated

Noticed the Island of Minotaurs is actually Crete itself. You know Crete was also suspected to be the actual site of Atlantis, you might want to put some merfolk off of its shores and perhaps an undersea kingdom as well.

Custom Race Idea.... The Living Weapon

Then again, why would a sword care about who one's parents are, because that is basically what makes a king. What humans do to organize themselves is of little concern to something as alien as an intelligent sword. Would an intelligent sword respect human institutions and customs such as...

Custom Race Idea.... The Living Weapon

It is simply that a low level commoner is the one mostly likely to pick you up since they are the most numerous, chances is are that a low level commoner is the one that is going to pick up that sword, and also they are the ones mostly easily defeated in an ego contest, that an intelligent sword...

Custom Race Idea.... The Living Weapon

What if the person who picks you up is a 1st level Commoner Peasant, who plowed you up out of his field where one hundred years ago there was a great battle and your last wielder was slain? Somehow in the aftermath of that battle the sword got buried, and it only got plowed up again when the...
