    D&D 4E JamesonCourage's First 4e Session

I think we'll get to that point eventually in this campaign. I'd like to see the focus wind up on it by the end of Paragon / the beginning of Epic. We'll see, though; I'm not sure what the players plan to do next. In the meantime, though, this is a good buildup device for them. Well, good luck...

    D&D 4E JamesonCourage's First 4e Session

Haha. They could have abandoned the Monk, but decided they'd rather die fighting as a party (which is very cool with me). They didn't really stand a chance, and I kind of used blunt force to transition the party with the player swap, but they took it in stride. It can always go bad pretty...

    D&D 4E JamesonCourage's First 4e Session

Awesome. Just awesome. That'll be a nice start towards a transition towards Paragon, and the broader scope of things they'll need to deal with. Thanks for the awesome suggestion. Now to see if I can find a fun Alternative item for the Scout to use in relation to this development. (Side note: He...

    D&D 4E JamesonCourage's First 4e Session

Off to work, but side note: the new player (who is a staple from my other group, and a close friend) had a lot of fun, and sees no problem with playing 4e.

    D&D 4E JamesonCourage's First 4e Session

Alright, it's late, so I won't take too long with this one. The player of the Monk isn't going to be available during these sessions, so I worked her out, and I worked the new player of the Wilden Scout in (so bear with the contrived beginning). So, tonight's session: I didn't hand out any minor...

D&D 4E Interesting Data Points With New 4e Players

Interesting. Good luck with Player 2! Though Player 1 and Player 3 sound like a lot of fun, I hold no hope for anyone who hates The Princess Bride :p

    D&D 4E JamesonCourage's First 4e Session

Alright, so the new player got his character finished last night, and we're set to play a week from today. Here's what he came up with: Kenny: Kenny is one of my oldest friends, and he's played in my campaigns since I first ran them (which introduced him to RPing). He will be playing a level 4...

    Affairs

Weird to admit on this site, but I've never cheated on someone, but I've been "the other guy" a few times.

    D&D 5E (2014) Defining fun

It's the stuff I always have. You know, the stuff that everyone else on these boards gets wrong. Objectively.

    D&D 4E JamesonCourage's First 4e Session

The player is strongly leaning towards the Ranger (Scout) build, but hasn't really looked over races yet. I think he'll settle on this build, and I'm going to suggest playing as an elf. Thanks, Neonchameleon, for the suggestion. (I'd suggest human, but he said "I think I want to play something...

    D&D 4E JamesonCourage's First 4e Session

Thanks guys, I'll be running these past him, and see what he thinks / comes up with. Hopefully his character will be created this weekend (when I'll likely post an update on it).

    D&D 4E JamesonCourage's First 4e Session

*BUMP* Just kidding. Anyway... after a long pause on the gaming sessions (thanks to my new job, the Warpriest's new job, and the scheduling conflicts that followed), we are planning on picking up gaming again. Right now, it looks like it'll be every other Saturday, starting on the 15th of this...

    Add XP to a User.

Yeah. I still give out XP, so it can be annoying, but it's nothing bad.

Why would a dragon NOT take Antimagic field?

From the sounds of it, Antimagic Field is right up his alley, then

Why would a dragon NOT take Antimagic field?

WHAT?! That's extremely odd, to me. But hey, it's not like I'm trying to force my style on you or the OP. I support the use of the Snatch feat, I was just talking about the tactic of holding someone under the lava for a couple of rounds (prolonged grappling). Mind you, I think a red dragon...

Why would a dragon NOT take Antimagic field?

Just to give some context on why dragons may not do this (at least according to the Monster Manual): The dragon may not want to spend a round or two grappling after using the Snatch feat, just by preference. So, we know that dragons want things, especially coins and magic items, and this goes...

Legends & Lore: A Few Rules Updates

I suppose if it was the only thing that differentiated them, this would be true. But, speed not making a difference? Ask any group who played 4e. Or had a party that walked somewhere (probably at low levels) where time was a factor. Also, I don't get this: Okay, so, we're changing shorter...

would you play your least fav edition if asked by friends

Yeah, same here. Just different priorities in gaming. Although, we've played some goofy one-shots on occasion, where immersion didn't matter, and sitting around eating and drinking and laughing was the point. It's not what my group wants out of gaming on a regular basis (believe it or not), but...

would you play your least fav edition if asked by friends

As far as versions of D&D go, yeah, I'd participate. I can stand a one-shot in any of them. If the question included "most disliked RPG", I'd likely skip the session. Why play what's not fun for me? I'd rather us just hang out and do something we all enjoy.
