    D&D 5E (2014) "Damage on a miss" poll.

Out of curiosity, do you believe these people when they deny your assertion? Well, if you really believe it but are open to change, sure, go ahead. If you are going to believe whatever you want, even if some in this group of five people opening disagree with you, then no, there'd be no point...

    D&D 5E (2014) "Damage on a miss" poll.

I'm just not passionate enough about 5e to really do that. I'm not planning to play it either way. Start a poll on it, though. I'm guessing that you'd be very wrong in your assumption.

<-- Another player who voted against it that prefers martial characters.

Should this PC implant the Eye of Vecna?

In-Game: If the character is intelligent and wise (which it sounds like he is), then of course not. He doesn't have a strong enough allegiance to Vecna to make it worth it. The power might be tempting, but I think he could see it's not worth it, as he won't really get to use the power unless the...

    New forum style available

Sorry, work called It was like that, yes. Wasn't so much speckled, I guess

    New forum style available

It was the old Legacy background, before the site crash. It wasn't a hard black background. It had more of a speckled feel to it, but it was still very dark. I liked it, but like I said, I understand that we're not going back to it.

    New forum style available

Another voice asking for the old style, if it's not too much trouble. I'll accept this new one, though, if that's the choice you make. You guys always work hard, and I appreciate what you do. (Honestly, I'd love to have the kinda-speckled background from before the site crash, but I don't think...

Would Paizo Make a Better Steward for Our Hobby?

Based on some of the few quotes from him I've read, there are much worse choices. He seems capable of appreciating systems for what they strive for. I think his views can be a little narrow (if I'm remembering what I read correctly), but all told, there would be much worse individuals.

Ever had others think you were gay?

Most people here think that, I think. I've never actually had Jameson Irish Whiskey (I'm not really a drinker). Been drunk like, I don't know, maybe four times. The name comes from a random name generator where you enter your real name and it spits one out. I was in high school at the time, but...

Ever had others think you were gay?

Haha, we're safe. My name is James! (Though I imagine some people might think my name is Jameson, and I don't mean to hurt them!)

D&D 5E (2014) Evil characters material not going to be in the PHB

I really don't remember the 3.5 PHB talking about their personalities at all, honestly. I'm kinda interested where this was. I think in the Spells chapter you see a picture of the Cleric casting Symbol of Pain (an Evil spell), and isn't the Wizard banishing a couatl or other Good creature...

Ever had others think you were gay?

Not really (though it happened a couple of times in one night when I was at a gay bar/club for a bit). I have apologized for not being gay, though. It's like the first time I found out that your name isn't actually Danny. My little EN World shattered.

D&D 5E (2014) Evil characters material not going to be in the PHB

I think that's probably true. Though, to be honest, I don't think there's a lot of Good stuff in there, either. The only thing that stands out is the Paladin.

Pronouns in D&D - How should gender be handled?

"I was taught this way, so it's jarring to see it another way" ≠ Those are two very different statements. Sorry if that wasn't clear to you somehow, but I hope now it is. Yeah, the second one is an appeal tradition. The first one isn't. I'm not sure that implying people who disagree with you...

D&D 4E can i use essentials with my 4e group?

Essentials is simpler. But, if you have less than four encounters per day, they might start to feel not quite as capable, since the daily-loaded classes can safely nova (where most essential classes don't really have dailies, though they have encounters, as far as I know). Even then, I have a...

D&D 4E can i use essentials with my 4e group?

It works fine right alongside non-Essentials stuff. There should be no problems mixing and matching mechanically, from my experience (though I've only run a game for a handful sessions; levels 1-4).

Pronouns in D&D - How should gender be handled?

Thank you for clarifying that. As I said, if a publisher thinks it'll attract more people by alternating "he" and "she" in the rule book, then go for it. I also said, though, I do find "she" in the general sense jarring while reading it, unless it refers to a specific person. It has nothing to...

Pronouns in D&D - How should gender be handled?

Was there something in my explanation in post 55 (the same page you posted this reply to) that left something unclear? Again, do you feel like I'm being sexist, as I specifically avoided using "she" in the general sense when writing my RPG? I know you can't make a judgment call on my specific...

Pronouns in D&D - How should gender be handled?

I'm against it because it's jarring for me, not confusing. Also, I don't really appreciate the light attack here; let's try to keep things a little more civil if we can, please? I'm definitely making an effort to explain myself and my position (in response to what may have been other attacks of...
