The Uncommoner (a class for those that are commoners, but not really)

I second the motion to limit the starting maximum ability scores to 14 at the highest. The level progression includes 7 ASIs, which is equal to the ASIs for the Fighter class; that's more than sufficient to bring an Uncommoner PC up to snuff with the rest of the party. Otherwise, I'm really...

    Rip-dungeon-apart character

None of the 20 listed categories (PHB p132) fits what you're describing. I would recommend cobbling together a mix of Guild Artisan and Sage for the PC's background.

New Rogue Archetype: The Physician (Expert in Medieval Medicine)

It seems to me that a physician's Sneak Attack ability would be informed by a knowledge of anatomy and, from proficiency with the herbalism kit, various toxins. A related question: in the physician's game-world culture, is there the equivalent of the Hippocratic Oath? Regarding the relation of...

New Rogue Archetype: The Physician (Expert in Medieval Medicine)

Mostly, I like it, but I feel that for purposes of balance, some of the features are a little over-powered. 1. Bone Setting. I would limit the re-roll to just on an original roll of 1, keeping the proviso that if the result of the re-roll is also a 1, it must be kept. 2. Alchemy. The spell...

    new Dragonborn Warlock

Oh, the image this post inspired: The warlock: Charlie Brown (Peanuts) with Thing-like skin (Fantastic Four), with an earth mephit/imp reminiscent of Pigpen (Peanuts again). Aside from that image, I really like your character concept and background.

Another consideration would be transportation of heavy and Large or larger objects, so hiring workers with Animal Handling and Vehicles (Land) might be necessary.

D&D 5E (2014) Does Darkness the spell dispel Faerie Fire?

My thinking when I replied was based on the PHB entry for Drow Magic (p24; mind you, this was not the updated 2nd printing) which doesn't mention that limitation. I failed to check the SA Compendium (v1.03) which confirms your clarification, so I stand corrected: "Can you cast darkness with a...

D&D 5E (2014) Does Darkness the spell dispel Faerie Fire?

Yes, you're reading it right, but bear in mind that Darkness can be cast with a higher spell-slot level, too. It's a spell-casting version of an arms race.

D&D 5E (2014) Does Darkness the spell dispel Faerie Fire?

The Darkness spell states that it "If any of this spell’s area overlaps with an area of light created by a spell of 2nd level or lower, the spell that created the light is dispelled." Faerie Fire is a 1st-level spell, so yes, it is dispelled.

    D&D 5E (2014) Help with Playing as a ghost

Your situation fascinates me. I went down the spell lists and pulled out all the sorcerer spells that have no material components to see what you have to work with. Sorcerer spells w/o material components: Cantrips: Acid Splash, Blade Ward, Chill Touch, Fire Bolt, Mage Hand, Poison Spray...

    D&D 5E (2014) Explainable multiclassing

I have a multi-classing player whose PC started with 2 levels of rogue, then gained the next 2 levels as a monk, having been imprisoned for an extended period. Her reasoning, which I accepted, was that during the years behind bars, the PC had to learn how to protect herself without weapons...

    D&D 5E (2014) Spell Sniper Feat + War Caster Feat + Sword Burst Cantrip = ???

Looks like it should work per the RAW. RAI might be another issue.

    new Dragonborn Warlock

Int isn't necessary for a warlock in general, although if it's important to your character concept, use the idea mentioned above of putting 2 build points each into Int and Wis. SCAG = Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide. Just came to market this week, US$ 39.95, CAN$ 50.95, not available as a pdf.

    D&D 5E (2014) EK vs Battlemaster/Abjurer

I like the idea of letting the player choose the two main schools of magic, which would also provide a little more variety among EKs.

    5E Retriever (from Pathfinder) conversion

OMG. This has the combined flavor of a hybrid beholder/invisible stalker stuffed into armor. I would hate to be a player in your higher level adventures (unless, of course, we PCs actually managed to beat this nightmare, in which case I'd be bragging about it for years!).

Al-Qadim: Land of Fate (5e conversion)

I really like your work on converting Al Qadim to 5e. The only change I've made for my home-world campaign is to bring Gen Servant a little more in line with the other 5e warlock patronage Expanded Spell lists. Since the spells granted will differ from Noble Genie to Noble Genie, like you, I...

D&D 5E (2014) Clearly the biggest design flaw of 5e

Rolling all those d4s does increase the minimum amount of damage done. It ain't all bad.

    Iron Cobra Conversion Feedback Request

This is a nasty piece of work; thank goodness for the low hit points. First, which edition did you use to convert this from? Per the DMG, AC = 10 + Dex mod + natural armor, in this case giving a natural armor of +11. That's off-the-charts in 5e; an iron golem has only AC 20 including its...

    New Background - Dead

I downloaded your all-backgrounds pdf. Impressive stuff. Especially nice is the Parent background; I love it when a player creates a character with family complications.
