D&D 5E (2024) Primal Power. Druid Tier List.

Hmm. People's milage always varies (cf YMMV), but I really don't see what's so mediocre about Tropical. The Tropical list includes Web and Stinking Cloud, which are both very solid non-druid spells. And Ray of Sickness which, though it deals poison damage, also causes the poisoned condition...

D&D 5E (2024) Primal Power. Druid Tier List.

That's the real benefit of the ability IMO. Keep in mind that druids have one of the best selections of battlefield control spells. Seems tailor made to push stuff into Spike Growth, or Moonbeams, or Conjured Elementals.

    D&D 5E (2024) Rogue, Thug. Homebrew subclass

I'd have tended to consider some sort of intimidation bonus or abilities. Might be a good ribbon candidate.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5E economics -The Peasants are revolting!

And yet again....no. What I'm talking about is already indexed against local prices. That's what "converted to comparable buying power" means.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5E economics -The Peasants are revolting!

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Eh... there's a fair bit of variation in the games I run. "Peasant" isn't exactly a high-paying or prestigious occupation on the whole, but there are certainly times and locations where one can find prosperous farmers. Kind of depends what else is happening...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5E economics -The Peasants are revolting!

I would say that it's important to keep in mind that farming tools (and presumably an appropriate proficiency) would certainly be expected to exist in your average fantasy-medieval setting; as would a fair number of others skills and tool proficiencies that aren't listed in the books. I would...

D&D General Dinosaurs in your campaigns

I think it's because the original origin story of owlbears was that they were artificially created through magic by mortals, rather than being an organism that either evolved naturally or was created by divine beings, depending on your favored creation narrative.

Yeah, ok, that's a fair point.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5E economics -The Peasants are revolting!

While it's partly my fault for using the word "value", what I intended to convey was "buying power". That is, lists that index the absolute value of the income to local costs. So, no, those aren't actually concerns - at least for what I was intending to communicate. For example, as...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5E economics -The Peasants are revolting!

Yeah, OP isn't entirely crazy as it sounds. You can find lists online of what the average income of people from the poorest countries make when converted to comparable buying power in your own country. The overwhelming majority of us first-worlders will find that such incomes wouldn't even...

D&D General Dinosaurs in your campaigns

Present but rare, usually inhabiting isolated primeval regions. Often in jungles, but sometimes deserts. Why deserts? I don't know - giant lizards seem to fit deserts in my psyche somehow. Usually are distant relatives of dragons - in the same sense that lemurs are distant relatives to...

    D&D 5E (2014) Herbs and Healing

Cadoc (Leaf) A rare succulent that only grows in temperate and arid conditions after a substantial rain; most frequently in alpine locations. The herb is about a hands length in height, with concentric rings of thick, spiky, triangular leaves that mature at approximately two to three fingers in...

    D&D 5E (2024) Bard as 2/3 caster.

Bards need to remain full casters in 5e; at least without VERY significant additional abilities to make up for it The fact of the matter is that although bards were not full casters in previous editions, spell scaling was also significantly different. Spells often scaled based on caster level...

    D&D General Ideas for a three-hour low-level Thanksgiving adventure?

Going back to the pilgrim theme, travelers or shipwreck survivors trying to build new lives in a foreign, hostile land. Possibly with non-combatants to defend. Will they clear territory of dangers or make alliances with local, sentient monsters?

D&D General Crossbow and Bow House Rules

This is intended. Crossbowman are... more or less generally acknowledged by pop medieval military historians to be inferior to skilled longbowmen. But much faster and easier to train. Military crossbows usually offer somewhat better penetration (damage) in exchange for a slower rate of fire...

D&D 5E (2024) Should Bounded Accuracy apply to skill checks? Thoughts on an old Alexandrian article

It is an unfortunate pathology that many DMs default to "roll for it" when a PC attempts any task. In my experience, this results in a host of inappropriate outcomes, such as the skilled mountain climber randomly falling off a normal cliff face; or the brain damaged troll knowing more about the...

    D&D 5E (2024) Bard DON"T Suck. Tier List.

Valor Bards can sub out one of those attacks for a cantrip (e.g. Eldritch Blast or True Strike); Dance bards cannot. And the only way I'm personally seeing Dance bards get that 4th attack is using a level or feat to get weapon mastery and THEN presuming an enemy gets within 5 feet and even THEN...

    D&D 5E (2024) Bard DON"T Suck. Tier List.

Eh, Dance bard's ability to help an ally move on reaction or give initiative bonuses isn't COMPLETELY worthless, but....Valor bard mostly steals its lunch money.

D&D 5E (2024) What does the new DMG say about gods?

Nor, I think, do many DMs. Speaking for myself, given the latitude I typically give Divine-using players in interpreting their vision of a deity's teaching, it rarely comes up. And when it does, it usually results from an egregious disconnect between a player's understanding of the game world...

D&D 5E (2024) What does the new DMG say about gods?

Yeah, that's never going to see the light of day in any game I ever run. Along with warlocks working in direct and obvious opposition to their patrons.
