TSR Who or What am I? Dragon 94 Cover by Clyde Caldwell

OG cover, and copy of the artwork bare. Heck, it would be awesome if someone asked Clyde about it (and if he recalls)!

TSR Who or What am I? Dragon 94 Cover by Clyde Caldwell

This little fellow graced the cover of the dragon issue 94 alongside a female ranger. Lets make a contest of who describes, defines or makes stats for the furry fellow; most likes on the answer post wins. (thought of this in the dragon 94 review thread, check it out) familiar? animal companion...

Gear was this issues mainstay though, both in gamma world, and treasure trove 2. Energy shackles, powered e gloves, duralink garrote, duralloy war claws ('cause wolverine!), antigrav pack...all GW games ought have them. the helmet maybe less so. potion of explosions even made it into the...

I played way more high level & diabolical/temptation stuff than most, I loved the devils/hell revisit. Couldn't agree more on it the standout. As to decline...ah, that happens in all things. It's got highs to come again in the future. not even far off. I'm a grognard that is not like the other...

UK2 notes above was dmg pg 196 I'm guessing the whole notion it was 2e/bad/wrong/newfangled stemmed primarily from players & not DMs (who were forced to that index for XP often enough, at the least!). I found it infinitely handy though, and was telling players to note it very early on. Another...

in the back index, where u had to go to get monster xp done up...all the monsters are in a one line stat block format (u needed to turn the book/orientation). hold on, I'd picture it for you: appendix E

the cover is creepy & nasty...I do not "like it", but it's a good cover anyway, i think. Some ought be weird/unsettling/off-putting; although it's surely not good for sales, it's good for artistic merit. This isn't a great issue IMHO, and I rarely credit advice articles anymore, I suspect...

Oh, to some posters: AD&D & D&D aren't definitive or accurate on monsters (well, excepting those made up for it) Wyvern is a dragon with 2 wings, 2 legs & often has a pointed tail. scorpion tails are...mostly JUST D&D.

such a great cover! always loved the greek mythos, and it really would make for great variant D&D play: centaurs, satyrs, fauns, various nymphs, as opposed to elves, dwarves, etc, etc "The Sword of Justice" is a neat low level adventure...and dragon really ought have had more, every issue or...

THACO is in the DMG, I was stunned to hear that insanity argued as if it was somehow being only of 2e & also, somehow a bad thing! LOL...it was helping my games since the early 80's!
