DTRPG Says 'Don't criticize us or we'll ban you'

So glad that all the dudes who are mostly famous for being chuds are coming out to oppose this policy.

DTRPG Says 'Don't criticize us or we'll ban you'

No it doesn't, lol. Making something easily accessible is what encourages its spread. Much like homeopathic medicine, that doesn't work like that. Are you saying that ENWorld's forums should also be hosting hate speech?

DTRPG Says 'Don't criticize us or we'll ban you'

I'm trying to determine where the concept that DTRPG has a moral and/or legal obligation to host Nazis is coming from. Obviously they can not host that stuff if they want to; there's no reason to ever host that kind of thing.

    Blades In The Dark

These are from Beam Saber, a mech/war Forged in the Dark game, but I presume they are the same as in Blades (I'm surprised they're not described in more detail there) Reduced Effect represents the pilot’s execution being hindered. This consequence reduces the expected Effect by one grade. Lost...

How faithful should a culture be adapted in an RPG?

Representation and authenticity is more important than trying to simulate a culture 1:1, which is not something I've ever seen happen. Nor should some historical things be expected; it's one thing to say, well these people over here in this fantasy gaming setting are misogynist because that's...

How do you find new RPG books/games?

I would not be running Armour Astir: Advent or Beam Saber had I not heard about the on Friends at the Table, an actual play podcast.

[+] Pride Month- A Brief History of Representation in TTRPGs

Armour Astir: Advent's "Impostor" playbook is explicitly designed to invoke transgender and disabled identity, being someone who has had their body changed in order to be able to pilot a mech. Also is just about fighting fascists in general.

Is Tolerance a Lawful thing ?

Being smart does not make you tolerant. Agreed with doctorbadwolf, tolerance cannot be applied equally - ie, lawfully - because intolerance itself cannot be tolerated.

D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk: Why We Need Mo' Oerth by 2024

Agreed. In my years of playing nobody's really ever said anything that makes Greyhawk stand out as anything other than a slightly-different Realms, and I also don't super like the Realms. Like, there's a megadungeon castle, a god of racism, and a god of guns-that-aren't-really-guns. About all...

Pathfinder 2E How is Pathfinder doing?

Yes. The actual last one to get them was Fists of the Ruby Phoenix, but the wiki being out of date is nothing new. They've indicated there's going to be some kind of replacement product, iirc?

    D&D 5E (2014) What is Quality?

It goes unspoken sometimes, particularly within the enfranchised DnD fandom, that a big part of its popularity stems from the fact that it is possibly the only work in existence that is directly synonymous with the medium it's in. The game has 50 years of branding behind it, as well as the...

Pathfinder 2E How is Pathfinder doing?

There's also the fact that the Orr report does not actually measure campaigns played in any way - it measures games created. The five 1e campaigns that I created that never got past session 0 count for as much as the 1e campaign I gmed to completion. Roll 20's Pathfinder 2e support is abysmal -...

    Games with "terrible" follow-up editions

Never thought about that point, but it's a good one. As someone who has played a lot of MMOs and read through most 4e books but not gotten a chance to run it yet, I genuinely have no idea where the MMO comparisons come from.

Pathfinder 2E How is Pathfinder doing?

Grand Bazaar details a huge marketplace in Absalom - so yeah, a place to just do shopping. The book itself is well worth it, the shop and shopkeepers are just (chefs kiss).

Absalom, City of Lost Omens In-Depth Review

An in-world change is not a retcon, and this is something that happened 5 years ago in Pathfinder Society Scenario #9-00, in August 2017.

    D&D 5E (2014) Paizo's 'The Abomination Vaults' Pathinder AP Coming to 5E

Abomination Vaults is great. The dungeon is full of opportunities for RP itself, on top of Otari being a delightfully realized village. Hopefully this brings a lot more people to look at Pathfinder offerings.

ZEITGEIST Zeitgeist for PF2E (starting a conversion)

Join the A Series of Dice-Based Events Discord Server! Come join us at the 2e conversion discord - some (light) work has been done on Zeitgeist, and I'm looking to improve upon it - especially cuz what's there is pretty old and needs some real TLC! When you join, type !other in the newcomers...

ZEITGEIST Zeitvice: one GM's guide to the best AP

There's some... Pretty abandoned work on a fan conversion over in the Dice-Based Events discord. They finished book 1 and chunks of 2. Wish it had more work on it, but it + lack of real gun rules convinced me to use the conversion of Hell's Rebels before I jump in to eventually doing Zeitgeist...

ZEITGEIST General tips for running Zeitgeist?

Yeah, great tips! I LOVE how your players' doc looks, Crispy, and Zeitvice rules. Fortunately I've got some real note-takers and investigator fans in this party. Fortunately I'm sure they'll all have a pretty good time of it.
