Is there a published option to swap a Rangers Wild Empathy?

Especially since it's one of four (being generous) druidic charisma-related doohickeys, none of which see much use at all: 1) Diplomacy. How many druids take this skill above, say, spellcraft, spot, heal, knowledge (Nature), listen, concentration, etc.? 2) Handle Animal: sort of useful, but...

    Druid build help

:D Simple enough: you want to give each of the PCs enough that they can have 8 berries/day. That's 72 berries/day. At an average of 5 berries/casting, you'd need 15 castings to equip everyone for one day. That's not really realistic for a low-level character; but you can get everyone to have...

    Druid build help

You realize that the local humane society is never going to let you adopt a puppy, don't you? :D One other problem with the monk level: you've got to be lawful to be a monk. This means your character must be, for at least one level, lawful neutral. That may not fit in your character concept...

    Druid build help

In Masters of the WIld (a 3.0 sourcebook) there were wilding clasps, 4,000 gp items that attached to a cloak or amulet and kept them active while wildshaping. We've expanded their use slightly so that they can attach to any two items of magical clothing; I've attached mine to my periapt of...

    Druid build help

Until that last sentence, I was really wondering what on earth you were talking about :). Wildshape, in my experience, has a huge weakness for druids: animal armor classes are absolutely terrible. I hardly ever go into combat as a druid (I've played one for several years now to level 17), and...

Is there a published option to swap a Rangers Wild Empathy?

I dunno--but I do know that in 17 levels of playing a druid with wild empathy, the ability's not come into use once. That may be campaign-specific, but I suspect in most campaigns it's not going to come into play very often. Whatever you swap it out for should be similarly limited in its use...

    Really honkin' big club

Ah, I think I realized the problem: I'm actually working off of Rich Burlew's polymorph rules, and I'd assumed that the equipment part was the same. However, his rules explicitly deal with the equipment issue, stating that it resizes if the new form can wear it. Daniel

    Shapechange and full attacks

Ah, excellent! I'm sometimes a doofus about careful reading; I appreciate the clarification! Daniel

    Really honkin' big club

There's not an arcane caster in the party, sadly. And I'm pretty sure that weapons change size along with the wielder; I'm just not certain that it's cumulative, or if it is, what the end damage looks like. Daniel

    Really honkin' big club

I'm a level 17 druid, and I'm still carrying around the same nonmagical club that I had at first level: I'm just not much of a melee man. But I just acquired shapechange, and I'm thinking that a titan is an awesome form to assume (especially since we use Rich Burlew's polymorph rules and are...

    Shapechange and full attacks

I am fighting a bunch of mooks, and so I shapechange into a hydra. Multiple attack goodness! Next round, I'm busily munching on the mooks nearby, but I notice a caster off in the distance, so after I've made all my bite attacks, I use a free action to shapeshift into a squid. What happens...

Why can't sentances end in prepositions?

The thing is, grammar is an observational science, to the extent that it's a science at all. It describes how folks talk, not how folks should talk. When grammar is an observational science, it's a fascinating, deep, complex science. When it's a guide to behavior, it makes Emily Post look...

Good to know aobut the usual running times; I'll see if I can fix that. Thanks for the heads up! Daniel

Clever Use of Prying Eyes Spell (Read a library?)

Keep in mind that the way the spell is written, when an eye replays info for you, it gives you five minutes worth of observation every half-second. If a guy takes a minute to walk down a street, you've got a tenth of a second to observe his doing so. If there's a battle that lasts five rounds...

NC Game Day XII: January 20th - BE THERE!

I've only played in one Henry game, but you're right. He rocks. As does Rel. As does NCSUCodemonkey, on the off chance he makes it this year. NC Game days are chock full of awesome GMs. Daniel

NC Game Day XII: January 20th - BE THERE!

Okay, I think I can make this one, and for the first time, I hope to run a game: Snakes on a Zeppelin During the filming of this 1937 B-grade movie, y'all (the Spanish swashbuckling villain, the anthropologist, the stuntman, the doctor/WWI vet, and the head of security) became good friends...

    Fire elementals

:D Lovely! (Okay, that was weird: I started to type "Lovely!" and looked down to see I had typed "Wolve!") I kinda think elementals have some control over their bodies. Water elementals don't just sploosh everywhere when they're on dry land, becoming puddle elementals; fire elementals don't...

    Clueless DM

re: the rogues' theft from the group: I'd point the players toward something like This pirate code of conduct. Historically, outlaws who stole from other members of their band were frowned on: Law-abiding folks would presumably be even rougher in the punishment. And anyone who allows a...
