What about a Cleric-laser build and a paladin heavy hitter. Both can heal the other, both can enter melee, both can do ranged? Or, a Melee cleric with an optimized ranger could be nasty?

My gut reaction is let the ranger do it. It sounds and looks cool to knee a bandit in the crotch then headbutt him, or stab him with an arrow or whatever. RAW? Don't know. Can't see it being used often, and if someone tries to abuse it just say no.

Yeah, low-level humanoid monsters (Kobolds/Goblins) seem to go first. That's why you need a 20 DEX Elf Ranger/ Halfling Rogue with Impr. Init.:)

Probably being stupid here..... but does an increase in CON at post-1st level result in a retroactive hp adjustment? I question it because the books IIRC says hp at first level = x + CON, with no indication that this can change at xth level with a CON increase? Drat - wrong forum!!!! Sorry.
