Are there any *classic* 2E adventures?

I'll second 'Tales of the Infinite Staircase' as a classic.

    Why no Clr/Rog PrC?

and the ability to Cure/Restore/Raise/Heal/Resurrect party members isn't important? I also don't know that I agree with you about direct damage - a Flame Strike or Fire Storm does as much damage as Wizard spells of those levels. Admittedly the Clr BAB is the same as the Rog and hp better, so...

    Why no Clr/Rog PrC?

Most of the arguments I've seen put forward for effective Clr/Rog multiclasses are dips into a couple of levels of Rogue for Evasion and some skills, arguing that the loss of one spell level's access is a reasonable cost. What about taking it further? Would anyone argue 6 Rogue levels would be...

    Why no Clr/Rog PrC?

I've already stated I think Clr/Ftr has a lot of synergies and I agree a pure Cleric with good physical stats can fight well given a couple of rounds to buff ... but I still don't see the relevance to Clr/Rog. Practiced Spellcaster certainly helps (perhaps too much in the case of ATr/EKn/MTh...

Wizards getting 4 skill points per level

Why Wizards, just out of curiosity? Given their focus on Intelligence, Wizards will often end up with more skill points per level than the '4+' classes (Monk, Barbarian, Druid) and sometimes even as many as the '6+' (Bard, Ranger.) Admittedly, given the restriction on class skills it tends to...

    Why no Clr/Rog PrC?

In the campaigns I've seen, past mid-levels Clerics are not really physical combatants; they rely on spells for helping allies / hurting opponents. Perhaps in a desperate situation a Clr15 might pull out the mace and smack something with it, but until she runs out of spells she'll deal more...

    Why no Clr/Rog PrC?

OK, on second thoghts maybe it is a little overpowered - but at least it's in the right direction. I disagree that the Black Flame Zealot is a viable parallel - 1/2 spellcasting and 1/3 Sneak Attack makes it only very slightly better than continuing to multiclass with even levels - so while it...

Wizard with Bluff and Intimidate as class skills - balance?

How about: Requirements: BAB +2 Base Will Save +3 Disable Device 6 ranks This can be achieved by a 3rd level Expert but no combination of (Core) PC classes before 4th level (you need one level of Rogue or cannot get the required ranks in Disable Device, and two levels of Bard, Cleric, Druid...

    Why no Clr/Rog PrC?

The Temple Raider has some rogue-like abilities and good skills, but its own spell progression. IMHO that isn't anywhere near a Clr/Rog PrC. The Unearthed Arcana Ranger PrC gives good skills but not only is it only 1/2 spell progression but its flavour is unmistakably that of a woodland...

Can sorcerers use metamagic rods without the full round action penalty?

From the 3.5 SRD Possession of a metamagic rod does not confer the associated feat on the owner, only the ability to use the given feat a specified number of times per day. A sorcerer still must take a full-round action when using a metamagic rod, just as if using a metamagic feat he possesses...

    Why no Clr/Rog PrC?

The DMG has the Eldritch Knight Ftr/Wiz PrC, the Arcane Trickster Rog/Wiz and the Mystic Theurge Clr/Wiz PrCs (qualified: by Wiz of course I mean Wiz or Sor, and yes, Eldritch Knights can be based on Pal or Rgr or Bbn, and MTs can be Druids etc.) In each case a few (2-4) Wiz/Sor spellcasting...

Wizard with Bluff and Intimidate as class skills - balance?

The version of Cosmopolitan in the 3.5E Players' Guide to Faerun just gives skill bonuses rather than allowing a cross-class skill to become a class skill. As far as I can see, there is no WotC 3.5E product allowing cross-class --> class. Perhaps it is due to a desire to limit people entering...

    Grim-n-Gritty: Revised and Simplified

I liked the idea of the original GnG, but it was too complicated and different for me to want to try to implement it. This version looks eminently playable, and I'm keen to give it a go! Well done, and thank you for making your hard work available to all of us! Quick suggestion re Sneak...

    Why was Darkness changed?

Can't agree with you more, and in metagaming terms I think that's enough reason to have made the change. In game terms I can imagine a group of stealthy Drow with their piwafwi using the Darkness to Hide and take opponents by surprise...

    New rogue special abilities.

Agree completely. It would have the nice bonus effect of allowing an Assassin to reach a higher Death Attack DC more quickly than a Rogue (if a Rog10 and a Rog5/Asn5 would have DC 15 + Int, a Rog15 would have DC 17 + Int, a Rog5/Asn10 DC 20 + Int.)

    Horizon Walker Question

Actually, I'm planning on taking it in Living Greyhawk, so rather than discussing with the DM (which would definitely be the best course in a home game,) I'm really after an 'official' ruling, if there is such a thing.

Profession skill and the use there of.

One of my PbP characters has Profession(Sailor) - although we haven't had any sea voyages, I've been able to use it to gain information about a star map on the wall of an elven library.... I would probably allow Profession to substitute for an appropriate other skill in the right context. So...

    New rogue special abilities.

The original post states that the poster doesn't like those prestige classes. So presumably if he ran a campaign, he wouldn't have the Assassin or Shadowdancer available, so the comparison is moot. The question is then "in the absence of those Prestige Classes, are 'Death Attack' and 'Hide in...

    Horizon Walker Question

The Horizon Walker can gain the Planar Terrain Mastery - Shifting ability, which grants the spell-like ability to dimension door. In the description it states (DMG190) 'You have the ability to use the ever-shifting nature of planes such as Limbo and the Plane of Shadows to travel faster. You...
