    Ok (been AFK) - agree on "shadow staff", and multiattack #2 above. I like the idea of Freezing Death - with cold plus necrotic damage, and 3x/day teleport - undecided abut planeshift vs teleportation circle...leaning towards latter

    removed counterspell from spell list. like idea of scrying. dread counterspell should be charisma (and changed). Had been pasted from an int-based monster.

    Will go with A - prefer it over vanilla "legendary resistance", and B is a bit fiddly yeah went with dex 17 too

    agree with the extra skills, and DEX to saves add terran and undercommon (languages) Was aiming for CR 25 so proficiency +8 as discussed - disrupt life, frightening gaze, dread counterspell all added

    They've hit 20th level (having played from 1st) and I've thought of another adventure - so at present thinking they'll just get to 21st or maybe 22nd level before stopping (or pausing I guess - if I think of another one)

    as discussed - ditched sunlight sensitivity, added disrupt life and frightening gaze - I like idea of adding paralysis to death grip. finally pondering about some sort of souped up shadow ball missile or something (it is a stone giant after all)

    I recall in AD&D, a Wish spell could be used to improve an ability score by 1 point up to 16, but then on was 1/10th of a point per wish (!)
