What is WOTC's Vision For The GSL?

Nothing preventing it except the assumption that humans always behave with perfect benevolence, fairness, and kindness when money is involved. :D

GSL & SRD -- Comments, Questions, and Hopes

On the other hand, your alternate assumption is that you can place unconditional trust in people you don't even personally know. And possibly, a different set of people you don't even personally know in another week or year, if the first set is replaced in any way. There are 3 people I can...

Kobold Badger-rider; Level 1 Elite Skirmisher

Yes, it would be badger-riding kobold. Or kobold badger-rider. Or for that matter, kobold badger dragoon! ;)

    D&D 4E Dueling in 4E - with pistols

Problem is, a lot of duels were fatal to both parties. There's got to be a way for both to lose if you want to keep that rather suicidal flavor that historical pistol duels had. ;)

    Is "Justiciar" the new "Rogue?"

Ah, okay, reading is extraordinarily rash and elitist. Gotcha. Thanks for setting me straight on that. And anything that isn't in the 400 word TV vocabulary is archaic. Huzzah for ignorance!

    Is "Justiciar" the new "Rogue?"

To elaborate, "justiciar" at least has an association with "justice." Justicar, on the other hand, sounds like one of those ludicrous titles that Carl Barks gave to his maharajas in his Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge comics -- "The Maharajah of Swingingdore" or the "Maharajah of Bumpacar."...

    Is "Justiciar" the new "Rogue?"

Justiciar > justicar, IMO. And if I actually heard someone pronounce "blackguard" as "black guard," I would assume that English was not their first language.

Boing Boing on the GSL !

And never did I state that this was journalism or that this goon, whoever he is (and frankly, I don't care) is a journalist. I was employing "yellow journalism" as a descriptive, comparative term -- like "mudslinging," even though mud is not involved. Or "smearing," even though no physical...

    Gnome Art Preview

Oh, yes, and while we're on the subject of the art previews, does anyone else think that the female cambion resembles Aunt Jemima? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aunt_Jemima

    Gnome Art Preview

Well, whatever the heck that thing is, it sure isn't a gnome. Nor is that abomination that Wayne Reynolds afflicted the world with a gnome -- its species name is "Kill On Sight." :D

    Excerpt: powers (merged)

Excellent point .... that would need to be one heck of a tough bag. :D To get back to the topic on hand -- I don't see any reason to not have the power cards as a deck, either. They're just spread out like that for the photograph.

Boing Boing on the GSL !

I love that headline, though .... straight out of the handbook of yellow journalism, you might say .... :D "Sleazy proposed new Dungeons and Dragons license seeks to poison open gaming systems" Ah, neutrality. ;)

Are you interested in Middle-earth setting or supermodule?

I'm an absolute Tolkien fan and I marked "No Way" -- turning the books into some sort of glorified dungeon crawl would destroy their magic completely. I might consider a campaign based on earlier parts of Middle-Earth "history" .... for example, the Angmar campaign that Enkhidu describes.

4th Edition Mounted Combat ... did I miss anything?

Depending on how mounted combat is handled (or ignored), perhaps this will prompt my first foray into attempted pdf publishing .... something like "The Book of Mounted Mayhem" or something .... :D

4th Edition Mounted Combat ... did I miss anything?

My games are typically centered around outdoor adventures and the like, and because of that, my PCs usually equip themselves with steeds at the earliest convenience. I say "steeds" because there are no horses in my campaign setting, ;) but that's beside the point. What I'm wondering is, have...

    Excerpt: Paragon paths (merged)

There's only one thing that I don't like about the paragon paths, and that's the "kensai" stuff. As the runner of a pretty European-based campaign world, I dislike having that oriental flavor hard-wired into the description. In particular, because a slight change -- you are privy to the secrets...

    Daily Art Preview

Hm, I just looked over that art gallery for the first time, and was pleasantly surprised. All of the pictures, with the exception of the cambion, looked good to me .... and I like the fact that the rakshasa is wearing more 'traditional' armor and gear, rather than the bondage fetish leather of...

    Excerpt: The Warlord

How many sergeants, lieutenants, captains, or majors have you heard being described as a "warlord"? Do you mean to tell me that our army contains thousands upon thousands of warlords? My point still stands. It's like a doctor calling the muscle in your calf a "bicep" -- yes, it refers to a...
