    MiPS Lost Mine [IC]

Caelynn Amastacia Cae had let Vottr talk about strategy without interruption. He knew that better than she. Possibly. She did think that, given how long they'd be traveling, all of them would inevitably want to take some turns riding and some walking... but his suggestions were fine as a...

    MiPS Lost Mine [IC]

Caelynn Amastacia Cae saw no reason not to escort the cart. Frankly, if Rockseeker had just asked them to do that without giving out any of the other information, she probably would have agreed to do it. But the entire expedition sounded fascinating, and if she wished to take part she'd have...

    MiPS Lost Mine [IC]

Caelynn Amastacia Cae was apprehensive as she approached Rockseeker's office. The whole thing was very odd, and she'd thought it best to be ready for everything--she'd packed gear last night and brought the backpack with her, and had made sure to prepare the defensive magic she knew. She had...

    D&D 5E (2014) Action Econ 101

Bonus actions are basically 3E's Swift actions or 4E's Minor actions. Why does the same thing need a different name in each edition? I dunno.

D&D 5E (2014) Someone In the art department...

That's not an animal companion. That's her brother. He's the druid. She's a sorcerer with the outlander background. Actually, I think I remember seeing that picture before... I believe (but am too lazy to check) that she was a 4E beastmaster ranger in her previous incarnation.

D&D 5E (2014) What do players spend their treasure on?

You can spend part of in on training in new languages or tool proficiencies. That's not a fast way to spend treasure, though, since it takes 250 days of downtime to actually gain one and you only pay 1 gp per day spent training... it's very adventure-pace dependent whether you actually have time...

    D&D 5E (2014) Multiclassing and save proficiencies?

Resilient doesn't say you can take it more than once, either. Monks get it them as a class feature, though. ...I think that's it. Unless your GM allows training in saves, I guess.

    Tyranny of Dragons

"Hoard of the Dragon Queen" is part of "Tyranny of Dragons;" ToD is a two-part (I believe?) series. The other adventure, "The Rise of Tiamat," isn't out yet. (It's actually "Hoard," although in this case it makes sense either way. She does have both; her horde is hoarding her hoard. :p)

    LMoP [ooc]

Not all pre-gen, but Basic only. The pre-gens do have some nice built-in relevant backgrounds that we've been drawing from. (Oh, just realized I never actually put it on her sheet--I'm pulling part of the pre-gen cleric's background for my character, since our cleric's not using it. The "Teach...

    D&D 5E (2014) So...warlocks?

Not all Con saves, only "Constitution saving throws that you make to maintain concentration on a spell when you take damage." Sorcerers already have Con save proficiency, actually. Not that they couldn't get any use out of a different Resilient.

D&D 5E (2014) Horde of the Dragon Queen Bonds

They really should be in an easier to access place. Dunno why they were in the book instead of the pdf supplement...

    LMoP [ooc]

Started with the pregen wizard and made some changes. I'm flexible, though, so if somebody else wants the wizard I can come up with something different. Name: Caelynn Amastacia Race: High Elf Class: Wizard Alighnment: Chaotic Good Personality: She uses polysyllabic words that convey the...

    LMoP [ooc]

Full basic, why not? I'll likely use one of the pre-gens with some tweaking anyway (I don't know the setting well, and they have built-in relevant backgrounds), though.

    Horror Board Game Mechanics

The card draw for advancing bad stuff mechanics in Pandemic and Forbidden Island are very similar--they were designed by the same person. Elder Sign is another cooperative game I have that's actually horror themed. I'm not sure I'd say that it actually inspires fear in its players, though.

I'm interested. I have read through part of the adventure, though, if that's a problem.

Eleanore's Request (Fantasy MnM 3E, Recruiting)

She actually does have an attack power. The "Magic" sample power uses Blast as a base. I overlooked that at first, too, and was going to say that her array was 1 point too much and she lacked an attack. Further comments forthcoming when I get a chance, but I just thought I'd point that one out.

    Jemal's Anniversary Special!

I built myself with enhanced physical traits. I'd probably head in a Powerhouse-ish direction, but also pick up some other non-physical traits as we get stronger. But like I said, I'm flexible if somebody else wants to go in a direction like that. I'm also thinking cold-controller as another...

    Jemal's Anniversary Special IC

"What the.. ?" Some kind of performance? Zero didn't think so somehow, especially with the crowd being affected. He grabs Lin and Diana, the two people closest to him, and pulls them back a few paces (although if either of them resists, he lets go of her without fighting). That was something he...

    The Right To Roll

Sure. I see both the attacker and the defender as doing something, so I don't necessarily think either one doing the rolling is any better than the other. I prefer DnD 4E's or Mutants & Masterminds' methods of attacks just because it's more uniform (although, MnM can actually use a different...
