My books from Amazon just arrived, with two-day shipping. Ordered in early May. By contrast, my friend who ordered my books for me and ordered his separately in early March on the same account has his back-ordered.

I usually use the phrase "You feel winded" in these situations. As in: "The wolf lunges to bite you and you just barely leap out of the way, but you feel awfully winded."

True, but it's helpful for people who aren't method actor-types. A lot of people need a goal-oriented structure in their games, and "acting for acting's sake" might not be enough. (N.B.: I am way not a method actor at all -- I tend to be too group-oriented.)

I don't know what it looks like in the new World of Darkness, but I was not impressed by the older edition's nature/demeanor system. In my experience roleplay mechanic systems never work very well if they give you a benefit up front -- then it just becomes easy to min/max while just ignoring...

Just use the Adapter pattern. Keep the map behind the GM screen and describe using that. When someone narratively describes actions, you mechanically determine what they can and can't do on your private grid, and tell them what happens. Oh, and I can't possibly imagine a girl being able to...

In my opinion, essentially this power amounts to "once per day, run away." But at epic level, I would expect that in most cases you are almost guaranteed to run away successfully if you really try. So it's a wash, I think.

Our party was three with no striker, so the GM halved the HP of the enemies (but kept numbers pretty much the same), and that seemed to work out. In your case, you might want to halve the amount of damage enemies do, and possibly up their HP. Strikers take a lot of damage in my experience.

Once per day, you can spend an extra healing surge in battle as a minor action and add 1d6. This is worth a feat on its own?

Wait, rods? What? Mind telling us about arcane implements and the wizard implement paths?

My question: Are they cool enough that we won't need to worry about the limited number of epic destinies being tedious for awhile?

Thanks! I was hoping they'd follow up on that dedication. Hmm, so rituals, dailies, and utilities are all preppable, huh? Definitely increases wizard versatility, in my mind. As for magic items -- I'm just hoping that we'll still have quirky items like Nolzur's Mysterious Pigments and so on.

Things I've been curious about: What is the wording to the dedication to EGG? How do wizards learn new spells known? Are all magic items combat-related? (Barring ritual scrolls, of course.)
