    Just wanted to say thanks

So far we have had artists, writers and publishers. I would like to add my thanks from the players/DM's. As someone who started playing back in the days of Judges Guild, Mayfair and Arduin I am very thankful for the D20 effort put forth by the above mentioned artists/writers/publishers, not to...

    Curiosity about ETools Tool

Hey, just because one guy (Davin) is already working on a front-end tool to modify the Access DB don't let that stop you from doing your own if you want. There is probably no "One True Way" to do it, more options is always better.

    File type discrimination

Well I know people have stated this before on many boards but I don't believe that this statement has *ever* been tested in a court of law. Until someone actually wins a case, and sets presedent, with this defense, it is just a nice idea. :) Does anyone know of any case law in regards to this...

    ETools class creation?

Ryan Dancey covered this over on the Wotc boards a long time ago when the changes that resulted in eTool were released. It is not that eTools can not have new classes/Prc's entered it is because Fluid/Wotc ran out of time/money to implement a class editor. For the majority of classes/Prc's...

    PCGen question

A license doesn't have to cost any money. The D20 and OGL licenses are free for instance. :) A license is just a contract that says party "x" can use property "y" that belongs to party "w" in this and that manner or for this and that purpose. Now a license *can* cost a lot of money, I am sure...

It's a Damn Shame about E-Tools (please read)

Actually the "tools not toys" argument started almost as soon as the demo in the PHB was released and happen right here (well, on Eric Noah's old, old boards). Most everyone on the boards was in agreement that while the CharGen Demo was cool looking and all, it grew stale and cumbersome after a...

How many of you use only the Core Books for your campaign?

No. Mostly use the core books, but have a little I have taken from various D20 stuff (some Wotc, some 3rd party). But I also don't use *any* non-core book completely. I may use a couple things from S&F or R&R, but don't allow everything from the books in my game. First see Leopolds post above...

    E-Tools owners, please grade it

Well I gave it a "B" It does what I want it to do fairly easily and quickly. There are some bugs that hopefully will be fixed in the first patch. There are very few what I would call "quirks" in the program. Most peoples problems come from the fact that, where there isn't bugs, it follows the...

    Why an Assassins hand book?

Not even close :) I don't think anyone but a diehard few are buying *everything* (or even close to everything). But on the other hand I don't think most of the D20 publishers are expecting everyone to either. A book like this Assassin's Handbook will probably sell several thousand copies. If...

What were the 3 software developers ordered to cease and dissist?

Actually the above quote from Mynex posted on the Wiz Boards is from the Yahoo PCGen group (I should know I posted it :) ) What it sounds like to me is that the guys from PCGen finally met with the lawyers from Wotc :) It is nice to see that the PCGen guys really do sound like they want be...

Which monster books do you have or are you getting?

Is that why you also didn't include Tome of Horrors from Necromancer Games?

    Judges Guild setting

Oh, then you are going to love Judges Guild stuff :) Most all thier stuff is packed with one liners. One of the things Necromancer is doing is taking these one line hooks and fleshing them out a bit with a couple stats. After all when most of the JG stuff was first released "HD2, hp 6, AC9...

    Judges Guild setting

Yep, there is Balder (Norse Mythos) owning a wine shop, which makes sense in a weird way. He is looking for love, in disguise until he finds a mortal women who will fall in love with him.

    Judges Guild setting

The "feel" of the JG stuff (in my opinion) is much different than most of today's settings. The underlying assumption is that each DM would "make the world his own". Rather than spelling out entire histories, detailed life stories of NPC's and intricate political relationships, the Wilderlands...

e-mail from ENWorld store re: e-Tools

Wow, how how tight are the margins in the software market? Your discounted price is only $.50 off the Wotc price! Has anybody seen eTools at more of a discount?

    Jamis Buck NPC generator

Unfortunatly, it looks like he also stopped work on Medusa, which was to be the heart of not just the updated NPC Generator but also the Realmscrafter product. Anyone hear anything about either of these two programs in the last several months??

Dream products that will never see the light of day...

"D20 Future", not a Sci-Fi setting book but a "Core Rules" book like D20 Modern. Something that would go quickly to the SRD and allow other publishers to create D20 Sci-Fi settings.

Answers to the Future support of E-Tools

That question was asked and Scott said that Fluid was more than willing to work with D20 publishers to put thier data into eTool "officially". I guess if you have a favorite D20 publisher that you would like to see stuff for in eTools you should have thme contact Scott at Fluid.
