    E-Tools Preview

Eric, Thanks a lot for answering questions. It is really nice to hear concrete answers from someone who has actually *used* the program about it's functionality. It is one thing to hear that you can advance or tweak a monster, it is another to hear *how* it can be done. By the way is the NDA...

Master To... er... D&D E-Tools. Is anyone actually going to buy it?

There's at least one guy over on the Wiz Boards who already has a mockup of just that, along with entry screens for adding classes to the Access DB. All he is missing is the file structure :) I would figure about two weeks after E-Tools gets released you will get what you wish for.

    Effect of smoking pot?

Ok, first thing is download Ambient's "Portable Hole Full of Beer (this product contains no alcohol)" http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=148& (don't worry it's free) and them make him take the Reefer Madman Prestige Class :) PHFoB(tpcna) also has D20 rules for Pipeweed.

    Question about Conversion Library

Re: Re: Question about Conversion Library Necromancer Games is doing the "Wurst of Grimtooth's" Is that what your looking for? Though I think the July 2002 date is a bit off, Clark & Bill & Company seem to be packing a lot of stuff into it. There is a forum on the Necromancer site for this...

    Canting Crew Now Available

I saw this in my local store and all I can say is that I doubt I will ever buy it. Sure the book is hardcover, but just glancing through it it didn't looked very "packed with information" , wide margins, lots of white space, etc. But the real stopper was the cost - $35 dollars. Sure I know it...

Master To... er... D&D E-Tools. Is anyone actually going to buy it?

Yep, I am going to buy it as soon as it comes out. Probably be able to get it for around $25 discounted. Remember that $29.99 is the "retail" price. Get it from somewhere other than Wotc. This is less than the cost of most hardback D20 books and close to the cost of many of the rest of the D20...

Questionable morals - PC's killing children

Everybody keeps bringing this up as a reason to think that the hobgoblins may not be so Evil after all. The way the MM states what "Usually" is: This does not mean that 49% are not Evil. It could mean that 99% are Evil, with the occassional throwback or oddity, depending on cluture or origin...

[OT] How to dispose of a collection?

Don't forget about grading the stuff. Noble Knight has a fairly straightforward grading system. I would suggest that you find *someones* grading system and stick to that when describing your stuff. And another note about eBay, if you elect to sell internationally you will widen your audience...

    City of the Spider Queen

Uh, I just finished reading through Rappan Athuk, the Lower Levels (RA3) from Necromancer Games. I believe RA will give GDQ a run for it's money. Except that the PC's will probably not live through it :)

    [OT] LOTR swords

I saw that Muesum Replicas has "authorized" LoTR swords in their latest catalog. Not only that but you can actually buy the "One Ring" for only $40. Bet that just pisses off the Big Dark One.

[OT] How to dispose of a collection?

Several reasons. I was in the process of adopting a daughter and needed the room primarily. Also most of it was boxed up and unused. I knew 3E was coming out and I knew about the upcoming ESD program, I was also pretty burned out on 2nd Edition and wanted to start clean with 3E. Plus I am *not*...

[OT] How to dispose of a collection?

I did the same thing you are trying to do just before 3E came out. I dumped 25+ years of gaming stuff. (over 250 lbs.) Here is what I did. Look over eBay and see what you have that may be worth money. Basically cherrypick through your collection. Look for those that are in "collectable" shape...

Which "must buy" gaming item did you buy, but never use?

Sad to say but the Wotc Monster Manual never gets used. I do use the SRD for the crunchy bits all the time but except for a very few monsters I have all the flavor text I need in my other MM books going back to 1E.

    Too many d20 products?

Too many D20 products? Not really. Of those "545" products less than a quarter are of any interest to *me* and of those I pick and choose. I don't do psionics - count those books out I don't do Kalamar or Scarred Lands - count those books out Don't do OA - count out all the Rogkan stuff I own...

Best 'Back to the Dungeon' adventure(s)?

Rappan Athuk is probably going to be your best best for the money in the long run. RA1-3 Will probably give you years of Dungeoning. Especially if you take advantage of the free web bonuses on the Necromancer Games web site. The only problem is that RA is *not* for 1st level characters (except...

    More wierdness from Avalanche

It's an illustrative example of the new "Squat-Shot" feat from the book??. Prereqs are Point-Blank Shot and Extreme Flatulence (from Portable Hole Full of Beer (contains no alcohol)) From the web page: "Cover art by noted Heavy Metal magazine artist, Lorenzo Sperlunga"

    Adventure module layouts?

One of the cool things Necromancer Games has been doing is putting up the maps from their modules in PDF format for download from their site (password protected). Admitedity this started as errata for some mistakes in the maps, but I *think* the fans on their site have got Orcus talked into...

The Need for Mead... and other gaming accoutrements

Re: Speaking of the need for mead... He was probably a wine maker first, mead brewer second. Making mead is not like making wine, it is more akin to beer making (or more closely Ale), with honey taking the place of the malt. Mead *does not* need to age 10 years to be good. I brew a lot of...
