    D&D 3.x I like psionics…

Their PF stuff was definitely more polished. DSP’s 3.5 stuff can be found here: Classes - DSP-d20-SRD

D&D General Why was 3.5 needed?

Just wanted to say I really appreciate all the replies in this thread. Love it. Thanks to all of you.

D&D General Why was 3.5 needed?

Exactly. There's actually a great video on PunPun: It's all theory and he wasn't meant to be played. And as you mention it requires a very lax interpretation of some rules.

D&D General Why was 3.5 needed?

When I first read the 3.5 PHB I was surprised there was no mention of the swift action, but as mentioned above, it came later in 3.5's life cycle. I took a picture of this side bar from my 3.5 Rules Compendium:

D&D General Why was 3.5 needed?

Yeah if I squint my eyes just like that, and look at my Tome of Magic and Tome of Battle and PHB2 I can kind of see a new game; a 3.75. I think I would have loved to see WotC rum with that. But again I really like 4e so 🤷🏼‍♂️

D&D General Why was 3.5 needed?

I absolutely love D&D history and "archeology". I played AD&D 2nd back in school, and then after a long hiatus in 2018 I returned to the hobby with 5e. I have since bought some 3.5 and 4e stuff so I could see what I have missed (and absolutely fell in love with 4e in the process). There is one...

From where did you get this?

Is a new GURPS version in the works?

I always wanted to run GURPS. As a kid I had the 2nd hardback and I loved that book. Loved reading all the complex combat rules and Advantages etc. But I never got to play it. And now it seems a bit "inaccessible". Also whenever I look at GURPS I can only find settings and rules book, but never...

WotC Hasbro's CEO Reports OGL-Related D&D Beyond Cancellations Had Minimal Impact

This feels a bit detached from the world. All companies are "greedy". Acting like WotC is special in this regard is strange. I am sure if you look at the companies from which you buy stuff in your daily life, you will find companies being much much more greedy than both WotC and Paizo. Paizo and...

Pathfinder 2E Is it fun to play a caster in PF2?

That actually sounds nice. I will remember this if we get back to PF2.

Pathfinder 2E Is it fun to play a caster in PF2?

Yes, that could be the case of course. :)

Pathfinder 2E Is it fun to play a caster in PF2?

I had a player playing a Warpriest Cleric and he found it to be very very boring and not fun at all. Casters being nurfed is definitely one of the most common PF2 complaints. Personally I find that casters do not tap in the whole 3-action system very creatively. And then there's the whole...

Where do we stand on Harry Potter?

This whole debate very quickly turns into at Bush-like meme: "Either you're with us, or you're against us". Even though I find this to be an interesting and complex topic, I have no interest in engaging in a discussion were that is the base line. I support trans people but I also read HP for my...

    Runequest Is Befuddling Me

I think Runequest is well served by the newly released starter set. A good place to start.

Kyle Brink Interviewed by Teos Abadia (Alphastream) on OGL, WotC, & D&D

They were a small team back then. Their first three adventure hardbacks were written by other companies. Tyranny by Kobold Press. Princes of Apocalypse by Sasquatch Game Studio, and Out of the Abyss by Green Ronin.

Kyle Brink Interviewed by Teos Abadia (Alphastream) on OGL, WotC, & D&D

I ran ToD as the first campaign for my group. We really had fun with it. Absolutely loved it. What I really like about WotC 5e modules - especially compared to Paizo's PF1 and PF2 APs is that they aren't padded with as many XP-harvesting encountes as the Paizo ones.

D&D 4E How to get started if you want to give 4e a try.

A good first adventure is The Slaying Stone. A really great adventure in its own right. Follow that up with Reavers of Harkenwold and then Madness at Gardmore Abbey. These three adventures are really really good. And shows off what 4e can. After that you know more about how 4e runs, and can...
