    Need American Revolution Naval help

Does anyone know of a place with a list for the length, draft, and deck height for all sailing ships? Maybe even a video game?

    Need American Revolution Naval help

Those sizes were a cut and paste error. Thanks for catching that! I am lost when it comes to crew sizes. I appreciate that. Sometimes I find some details about a ship and little for the next. Give me a bit and I will post some of those corrections!

    Need American Revolution Naval help

Bluenose Sounds like you know a lot about the subject! Cool! Well I've got a list of ships that I have converted so far. Maybe you could look it over and make some corrections? The information that I have been able to find has been of varying usefulness.

    Looking for some System suggestions.

Well Nexus D20 is technically based on D20 system but it is VERY different than most. It uses a class framework system which is half way between a point buy system and a level based system. The character level defines the power level of the character in general. It is actually more of a...

    Need American Revolution Naval help

I am starting on the American Revolution era for my game and I need some help from someone who knows about ships during that time. Anyone here know about it or can someone suggest another forum? I need about 10 representative ships from that time. I've found lists of ships but I don't know...

    Alternate Star Wars Tech Level

This is mostly just for fun but I thought someone else might find it interesting. I've got a slightly different tech level progression for my game and I decided to use it to create a different style Star Wars. Some of the notes wont make sense. Don;t worry about them. Tell me what you think...

    Favorite Game Rule Wish List

Well I use Parry and Dodge as my static defenses instead of AC. Armor provides Damage Resistance instead. I also use a cascading defense system. Each time you defend after the first time after your turn you take a -1 to all your defenses (well not savings throws or mental defenses). So if your...

Warp Drive vs Hyperdrive: Star Trek and Star Wars comparative speeds (WOIN)

They are both referring to a concept of a different dimension coming out of Einstein's theories. Some people believe that it is the set of dimensions that wormholes are moving through. However since they are referring to a different dimension of space then having the space have a set speed like...

    Favorite Game Rule Wish List

I prefer a Parry defense instead of a skill. If your attack is 10 less than the defender's parry rating then they get a free counter.

Warp Drive vs Hyperdrive: Star Trek and Star Wars comparative speeds (WOIN)

Actually there is no reason that they shouldn't be able to manuever in hyperspace. It's just another place. In Babylon 5 they show this better but they say that combat in hyperspace is a bad idea but never give a good reason why.

Warp Drive vs Hyperdrive: Star Trek and Star Wars comparative speeds (WOIN)

Here's the catch to all this. There is no speed to hyperspace. Hyperspace is an alternate dimension, not a speed. Hyperspace has a compression ratio with normal space. So if you travel 1 meter in normal space then you travel only 1 meter. If you go into hyperspace and and travel one meter but...

Need help with Nukes and Mass Drivers

Umm mega damage is one of the worst game mechanics in rpg history and is a bad example of scaling. My system has scaling which reduces the numbers to reasonable levels for each scale. There are character, vehicle, ship, capitol, station, and planetary scale. Modern nukes are in the station...

Need help checking scaling of wound levels

No nothing like 4e. The wound point system that I found was in Rune I think. Basically the idea is that instead of having a pool of hit points like DnD you have a set amount of chart that says how much damage a certain kind of weapon would do to a human in general. Then you have toughness which...
