I was thinking about this recently. Instead of writing up traits for most NPCs you could have a list or matrix of character traits and just list an example character for the stats. So you could do something like: Roberts of Tocca Township/Banker/Gruff, Arrogant, Cowardly, Rich/1st level Thief.
