The secret number is 86. I've been in that situation on both sides. He needs to understand that it's no fun for anybody when the expectation is that he's going to show up. It's difficult to fill a chair, but not impossible. Fill that chair, the next time he shows up he's going to realize...

Can Lawful good ever be ruthless?

I concur. If you had ordered 15 or 20 peasants off the boat, a death sentence, just so the Royals could enjoy the lifeboat in comfort then you're looking at getting some Angry AIM messages from your god. Otherwise, you're just fulfilling your oath to Uphold Law.

    Shut it down! [Problem Solving]

+/- level 15 or so right? Ach... well, off the top of my head... Is there a temporary way to reduce access to their source of magic? Maybe generate some Wild Magic overload or something? It doesn't have to last for long, just long enough to get some motivated, well armed, angry people inside...

What is the cleverest thing you've done to get out of a bad situation?

Quick Thinking This was in a Shadowrun game about 7 or 8 years ago. We were tasked with breaking into a well guarded casino outside of Seattle. We couldn't use the tried and true method of blowing stuff up. I can't remember the specifics of the plan now, but it involved my character seducing...
