    [July] What are you reading?

Just started book 3 of Kushiel's Legacy trilogy. Definately rated R for Mature Language, Nudity, and Sexual Situations. Children Under 17 not admited without a Parent. After this, I'm going to work on a book called the Eyes of God by John Marco. Pretty hefty tome, that one... kinda looking...

    what alignment is this?

Lawful Evil, and I'll tell you why He acts without remorse, or pity. He kills without any regard for mercy. That's Evil, with a Capital E, and if this message board would allow it, I would underline it three times with red ink. He wouldn't hesitate to lay down his life for those he holds...

    No running in the hall...

I agree It's hard to pull off that Angsty yet Languid "I've been drinking Absynthe ALL EVENING" look if you've laced up the Nikes... Really though, would you want to get your patent leather and velvet track suit dirty?

Fantasy Movies (non sword and sorcery)

Journey to the Center of the Earth is an older (1959) movie that I picked up on DVD a couple of weeks ago. I remembered it from one of those Adventure Theater afternoon movies on TV. It's absolutely brilliant. It's got Adventure, an evil villian, and Dimetrodons (Big sail-backed reptiles...

The Terasque and Tiamat The Basilisk is a greek word meaning "Little King", a monster that evolved into the Cockatrice. The Terasque is a legendary French Dragon that "haunts the banks of the River Rhone between Avignon and Arles in southern France." Larger in size than the biggest horse or...

dumbest thing a character has survived

Special Wizard We were at the end of an adventure, we had dropped what I thought was the Big Bad, and were cleaning up all of the spare change and stuff lying around. My character found a grating that covered an opening into a room containing what looked like a sarcophagus. Boy, it sure is...

Moments you live for in D&D gaming

Love that DM Here's one... We were in the ruins of a temple, having appeared through a gate just moments after a battle. We were lost, hungry and really beat up. The cleric "speaks with dead". The DM used a zombie voice (braaaaaaiiiiins...) that raised the hair on my neck.

    [June] What are you reading?

The Bad Popes I'm also reading a book called "The Bad Popes" by Russell Chamberlain. It's a very well written (not boring) history of the Church, during the reign of seven different popes, during three distinct periods.
