I think Rope Trick is going to be a non-issue now... they have stated that they want to get rid of the crawl an hour-camp-crawl an hour setup. We will see how it goes when the game is released, but I find it highly unlikely that Rope Trick will be in 4e, given their stated intentions.

I disagree. I think considering the way the game is set up, we shouldn't seek out to punish players for doing what the game has always expected and encouraged them to do... which is, buying and carrying magic items. It is also just as unrealistic as the "dude" factor that unrealistically...

I think so long as they keep their promise to not have any stat-boosting items, and they keep the standard stat bonuses on the neck, chest, and implement slots, I think we will be in the clear. I think this makes it possible now to run low-magic/low-money campaigns.
