    Introducing DM Minion 2.0

Thanks for fixing the screen resolution issue. Works great on my netbook now. I've tried every tracker out there I think, from DnD4e Combat manager, Dm Battlescreen, to Masterplan, and I find this one is the easiest to use during play. The sliders and icons for each condition really reduce the...

D&D 4E Question on the Superior NAD feats and the math of 4e

The math fix Expertise feats have been discussed to death, but for the life of me, I can't remember how much the Superior range of feats (Will, Reflexes, and Fortitude) figure into the math as "fixes". Does anyone know, can point me to the right discussion? Thanks.

If inherent bonuses and enchantment bonuses stack - what are the implications?

This would be best, from a KISS standpoint. Keep the amount of different kickers to a minimum, for ease and quickness of play if nothing else.

If inherent bonuses and enchantment bonuses stack - what are the implications?

I like this idea. If you limit it to a range of +1 to +3 item bonus then you now can make +2 items the default standard level of any magic item. In effect letting a magic item be a physical manifestation of the "DM's Friend". From there you can make lesser (+1) and greater (+3) versions of...

    "Essentializing" the Martial Power source

Another update to the pdf. For simplicity, I removed all the other martial classes right now, and focused on the fighter in this doc. I added the new Exploit keyword to some of the Encounter powers, mainly the ones that granted additional or cascading attacks. I also expanded the list to...

    "Essentializing" the Martial Power source

Ok, updated the attachment. Still not perfect..obviously. :) I added the Exploit Keyword, which basically adds the restriction the you can only use a power with the Exploit keyword once per turn, on your turn only. I still need to mofidy the at wills a bit, and the Dailys still require a hit...

    "Essentializing" the Martial Power source

Thanks to everyone for the feedback so far. I saw the "quiet" addition of what amounted to the Reliable keyword being added to encounter and at wills. Lots to look at and ponder on my side now. Thanks again.

    "Essentializing" the Martial Power source

ah, the basic motivation is...can it be done. And can it be done in keeping with 4e's original design of balance. I knew about the ramifications of the magic items, and in such an environment they would have to recalculated or redesigned. Charge builds are another matter entirely. I'll have to...

    "Essentializing" the Martial Power source

True, the essentials stances are similar, but are fire and forget. You set it during your turn and are stuck with it until you decide to change it in a later round. This way keeps the interactiveness of the original classes AEDU. You now have the flexibility PER ATTACK to add a kicker to the...

    "Essentializing" the Martial Power source

I'm think of trying tis out in my next 4e campaign, but wanted to get some feedback to see potential issues I may encounter. Quick background though. I love the Martial power source as it was designed from the beginning, so this isn't a reaction to verisimilitude. This is more a thought...

Actually, these lines are more interesting to me: You can add new artifact and story items, mundane adventuring gear, and hirelings and henchman to your game. Especially the last bit.

Rule of Three 6/13/2011: "semi-obscure but flavorful setting" in Dungeon and Dragon

I'd put my money on Al'Qadim. This reminded me of one of the other things Chris Perkins said at Comicpalooza in Houston. WotC will be releasing a Sha'ir class in Dragon in the coming year. Given the Sha'ir elemental ties, and the upcoming Elemental Heroes book, I can see Al'Qadim as being a...
