I appreciate the info. I see a lot about rlp...but none of it seems to answer my concerns about using a lance mounted 1 handed in regular melee. Guess it'll be something I'll have to take and accept..

Oh, I can see poking and jabbing and attacking..but full Attack and Damage? That just seems unreasonable.

Any idea what I should search on to find this?

Okay, I know that appears RAW, but wielding a weapon that large, with 1 hand, with reach, seems awfully difficult.

Once a charge is performed by a mounted combat lancer, can they still use the melee as a standard melee weapon as reach and 1 handed?

The "Buy the Book" supplement earlier suggested is turning out to be the perfect thing I am looking for. Though with slight modifications. I like the idea of using a caste system/concentration. If you are a fighter, fighter stuff is a bit cheaper, and non fighter is more expensive..etc...

There is a "2 hour demo", but it really doesn't go into mechanics specifically...I can poke around the player and DM aids, and make some assumptions...but no actual details...I'd hate to have to preorder the book, just to get the beta..

Yes precedence is there...you just quoted some stuff. And in PF there is rogue talent you can cast a 1st level spell twice a day as a spell like ability. That being said, you can't stipulate RAW in the responses from your non RAW questions :)

Makes sense, but I recall a conversation here, within the last 2 years discussing using a mount with ride by attack on a gargantuan dragon, and the rider being obliterated on the way out....Really don't care to dig it up, but the text you quoted is pretty straight forward.

Well, is the rogue used to the ranger and fighter arguing? If so, maybe he wasn't prepared, as he was used to their "love" fest. What if what if what if. In a normal situation, I think the ranger and rogue are flat footed and "unaware" of a combat starting. He swings, then initiative occurs.

If the ability is not too overly powerful, as long as there aren't pre-reqs, we allow some class abilities to be made into feats. (like Evasion). There is precedence for this in either 3.5 or PF...can't remember which one.

Create a feat, that allows you to pick a 1st level spell that you can cast at will. Pick Enlarge.
