D&D 5E (2014) Polearm Mastery bonus action attack - does it have reach?

There was a sage advice or a tweet from one of the developers stating that yes the bonus attack has reach and does add STR to roll/attack.

D&D 5E (2014) Deal Breakers - Or woah, that is just too much

Things that are deal breakers for me - DM Deal Breakers - * Control freaks who take options away from players by rail roading them the entire time or force feed their story, whether the players want to go that route or not. * DM's who house rule the entire game, for no reason, and their end...

D&D 5E (2014) Survivor Feats: UPDATE- MOBILE WINS!

Not surprised that the GWM and Polearm Master hate camp zerged the two feats, but I am surprised there wasn't more hate for Sharpshooter at first because IMO Sharpshooter is worse than the other two. Still, not surprised these were voted out fast given the group of people who make it their...

D&D 5E (2014) Ruminations on Overpowered Feats and Crafting New Feats

I allow feats, by the book, and have had no issues with any feats being broken or OP. I guess I'll clarify that we also use the standard point buy system, so I haven't had to deal with any combination of absurd stats + feats.

D&D 5E (2014) Can a character tell when they are in danger of drawing an Opportunity Attack, notably in regards to Sentinel & Polearm Master?

Not necessarily 100% true... Just look at MMA... You can be super experienced and still get knocked out in 13 seconds because you don't quite know what another person has up their sleeve... Assumptions can be deadly... Just because you're a fighter or adventurer or warrior or w/e doesn't make...

D&D 5E (2014) Can a character tell when they are in danger of drawing an Opportunity Attack, notably in regards to Sentinel & Polearm Master?

Necro thread... I only read the OP and I'm not going to read all the replies, but in my opinion a character is unable to tell if an enemy has the polearm master feat and is unable to tell what skills the enemy has outside of the normal assumptions. If I was a character and ran into a guy with a...

Dungeonesque: Is 5E's 'Pathfinder' Already Here?

There's a difference in supplementing D&D and then outright creating your own game, with 99.9% of the same exact everything from D&D in it, slap a new name on it and then compete with D&D. Regardless, this is sadly how most business today works, no one ever has something of their own and pretty...

Dungeonesque: Is 5E's 'Pathfinder' Already Here?

I hope there's no 5e version of Pathfinder or any other serious 5e clone honestly. I'm not a big fan of people making money by just adding some icing on top of other peoples work. I can understand similar products, but building your product off the bones and organs of another game with a new...

The Day Has Come! It's An OGL! And A Store To Buy & Sell D&D 5E Products!

Who wants to be really nice and break down into laymans terms what is allowed/disallowed now? I'm at work and it's all blocked. :-(

D&D 5E (2014) After Action Report - OotA: Experimenting with 5e and certain death

Welcome to the forums and thank you for sharing. That first session sounds like a lot of fun and brutal!

D&D 5E (2014) Why do (non-deadly) traps exist in your campaign?

The books are near the final stages of production. I'm sure they'll have some on their online store eventually in the next few months, or at least make the PDFs available. I already got my free PDF, so it's possible you can buy it now on drivethrurpg or similar sites.

D&D 5E (2014) Why do (non-deadly) traps exist in your campaign?

I totally backed this, got the PDF, just waiting on my physical copy... https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1409961192/grimtooths-ultimate-traps-collection May be worth keeping an eye on for when they sell them via their store if you'd like to grab one!

    Did I do something wrong?

@OP, When you say organized play, is this in the Adventurers League? If so, considering how it's pretty regulated, I don't see how it's any fault of yours if your character that you built using the AL guidelines is more effective than the others. I think the real issue here is that the...

    Where is the National Guard?

More of these race baiting discussions... How about we do this. You poor mistreated souls just tell me how much of my hard earned money as a donation would ease the massive pain and suffering you're obviously in thanks to the man holding you down... *insert eyeroll* This is sarcasm by the...

    Fury over Black Hermione Granger

I ask because I've met and know a lot of people of color who have been raised to, and firmly believe that white people are the root of all their problems as a whole. It's literally instilled into them from childhood. So I know some people think it's true.

    Fury over Black Hermione Granger

I am 110% all for EVERYONE having perfect equality regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation. What I am not for are people blaming me, even if it's indirectly, because of the color of my skin, for offenses I took no part in. If you want me to treat you fairly and with...

    Fury over Black Hermione Granger

My lunch break isn't long enough to properly respond to everything above, but I'll try my best to give a proper response tonight when I'm home. In the mean time, I have a question. If the white man suddenly vanished from the world, would all of the current minorities problems be solved? I only...

    Fury over Black Hermione Granger

Whether it's true or not is not the point. The point is that when one group does it it's seen as acceptable, however when white people do it it's seen as racist. . As soon as the movies casted a white actress as Hermione, they pretty much established her as a white character as far as the...
