I will be very interested to see what happens to the DDB version when Lord of the Rings 5e's license expires. Obviously Wizards would at least be obliged to Legacy Content the material, but I wonder if they'd even be allowed to keep it available to those that bought it? Guess it'll depend on...

We probably shouldn't assume too much from the contents of a themed third-party artbook. Mystara might be in there simply because there's a lot of artwork associated with the setting, thanks to product lines like the D&D Gazetteer series. I do have to say, the exclusion of Mystara from the 5e...

I suspect this is more likely than a bunch of individual setting books, since it would let them update a lot more of the 5e material to 5e Revised all at once.

I doubt it's coming soon, but it was apparently mentioned in the 5e Revised PHB as a setting. Rather surprising, since they admitted last year that they didn't think it was doable. So it might be happening! (Whether established fans will like any 5e Revised Dark Sun is a different question...)

Eh, not quite. 0. The original show had them in "the Realm" - which predated the Forgotten Realms setting, and the two weren't connected at the time. 1. A band of adventurers very strongly implied - but never confirmed - to be the 80s cartoon cast, all grown up, appeared in the Forgotten Realms...
