It is more likely that conventional wisdom was simply wrong. I am not a fan of 4E and did not convert, but commercially speaking, it is surely very successful. Weren't there indications from WotC that 4E sales were brisk?

Interesting news - thanks for posting this. They jacked up prices of miniatures in 2006, which just happened to coincide with the start of a slide in sales. The two could be interconnected. I am not saying they could keep the prices the same and make a profit, as production costs do change...

How about giving everybody a flat starting bonus to hit points instead? Pathfinder, for example, has an optional rule to add 6 hit points at the beginning (or do it by race: 4hp for weak races, 6hp for normal races and 8hp for strong races).

Does anybody know of any esoteric words meaning "Mental" (as in, relating to the mind)? The only one I can think of is "Phrenic" - are there any more?

I prefer having at least three mental abilities and preferably more. It is a question of granularity of distinction and enables the character to be described mechanically in more precise terms.

Hmm, perhaps the wizards ought to attempt to extend the Injunction to those other groups.

Is there a time limit on when old threads are deleted or moved from active forums to some kind of archive? And if so, what is the time limit and/or where are they archived? Also, once archived, do they stay archived permanently, or are they also deleted from the archive after a longer period...

Perhaps we could have a more accurate figure? ;) I suspect that it is the XP required for a given level in 4E but divided by 100.
