King Arthur - R&R or RPGO?

As a playtester of Excalibur, I too am probably biased. Having said that, Excalibur is one of the best written games I've played. The mechanics are tight, the new base classes and PrCs fit the setting very well, and the GM's section is a must read for every GM, not just Excalibur. The whole feel...

    Romance in Roleplaying

romance has very rarely played a significant role in any campaign i have been involved in. not really conscious, just never used it. had one campaign i was running where two of the pcs found themselves entangled in a romantic way. both of the players (male) had a lot of fun with it, as did i...

    monotheism in D&D

Legends of Excalibur, from RPG Objects, is set in Arthurian legend. It uses the One God and has priests (cleric equivalent). It also contains the druids and other followers of the Old Faith. These forces may be at odds as well as various factions within the Church. Even prophecy and divination...

    Flying vehicles

Give your world some form, either chemically or with one of the elements of your magic, that treats wood or cloth or ceramic or some other physical element and gives it the properties of metal. Then just act as if the new material was metal. Reminds me of the Riftwar saga by Raymond Feist...

    My wife's character art

How much for an autographed original? Lady White Tiger, for instance? As others have said it better than me, all I will say is, I look forward to more. A new fan. zen

[OOC thread] Midnight at Milwood Morgue [D20 Modern: Dark*Matter]

1st level Ordinaries? Not Heroes? Ordinaries use different ability scores. Oh well, just nit picking. Never played in D*M. Know nothing about it. Will try anything once. Rough concept, to be tempered later when I can sit down with the book. All elements subject to change. Adam Carsen, known...

Medallions d20 Modern (Update Wednesday 09-20-06)

How do the players make their sanity rolls. I'm just reading it, and think I failed at least one. I love this story! I hate this story! I fear this story! More! zen

    Good d20M one-shots

I found when I ran it, that the best solution was to avoid any fighting whatsoever. My players, of course, managed to figure out a way to turn it into the bloodiest, torture-est, mindless brawl of all time, including killing innocent bystanders and the removal of body parts. Yippee! zen

    Good d20M one-shots

actually, there are a couple of the wizards free adventures that are sans fx. The previously mentioned adelie 14, a funny thing, and the peterson counterstrike (although if you continue into the heartless series they become fantastical but at least a couple of them can be redone without fx). if...

D20 Future: excuse me while I drool

Don't know how close it comes to what you want, but there is a Gothic Earth sourcebook. It's a free pdf, part of the Living Death RPGA setting. You can check it out at www.livingdeath.org. It is a d20 adaptation of the Masque of the Red Death. Never saw the original so can't tell you how it...

Be honest, DMs: how much do you ad lib?

some of my best adventures have been completely "off-the-cuff". also, some of my worst. if you know your campaign world and are passingly familiar with the rules, you can usually pull it off in such a way as your players will never know the difference. and if they do notice something, just tell...
