Shadow of the Weird Wizard Is Finally Here!

Just browsing through it, I also dislike the layout. That's subjective, though. The other thing that makes me sad is that he hasn't broken free of having both scores and modifiers for attributes. I guess the reason is that the scores are used as DCs a lot. It just seems to me that the modifiers...

Pendragon 6E Gets An April Release Date!

I have the starter set, and the only big change from previous editions is the procedure for large battles. Which needed an update, frankly. Battles have always been the weakest link in Pendragon.

RPG Print News – Mongoose, Rogue Games, Exalted Funeral, and More

It seems more like a remake of Twilight's Peak and the original Secret of the Ancients.

WotC Updates D&D's AI Policy After YouTuber's False Accusations

There were some pictures at the end of the article with thumbnails from various YouTube videos. Morrus removed them after a while, since they didn't have that much to do with what he was writing about.

WotC Updates D&D's AI Policy After YouTuber's False Accusations

Lumping Professor Dungeonmaster in with those others is a great example of reporting, not investigating. But I suppose he brings it on himself by having those clickbaity thumbnails.

Nominate your MOST ANTICIPATED RPG of 2024

I don't think that link goes where you think it goes.

Nominate your MOST ANTICIPATED RPG of 2024

Hmmm, can we nominate Pendragon 6e again, because only the starter set is out and we're still waiting for the full rulebook? ;)

Nominate your MOST ANTICIPATED RPG of 2024

13th Age 2e (because it's still not out)

Pathfinder 2E Wizard Changes in Pathfinder 2e Remaster

I don't have any horse in this race, but this all sounds eminently reasonable to me.

RPG Crowdfunding News – Moria, Tombpunk, TTRPG Conventions, and more

If anyone is on the fence about Moria, just let me point out that it's written by Gareth Hanrahan. That was enough to push me over, at any rate.

WotC WotC: 'Artists Must Refrain From Using AI Art Generation'

No, it looks like ass. Which is why people noticed. And also why we can be suspicious of WotC claiming they didn't know. Either they had no eyes looking at the art before they put it into the book, or they actually decided to try it to see what would happen.

    Dragon Reflections #66

Weapon exemptions for clerics was RAW as early as AD&D 2e. That's not the important part. Weapon damage based on the character class rather than on the weapon itself is the revolutionary idea.

    Dragon Reflections #66

Fascinating! A rule that it would only take 3 decades to finally implement (in 13th Age). Never read this issue back in the day, but I want to believe I would have houseruled this into my games if I had. ;)

RPG Crowdfunding News – The Walking Dead, The Black Ballad, CinCityCon, and more

I find this campaign a little confusing. In the title they call it 6th ed, but the description says it's an "updated" version of 1st ed. Updated how, exactly? That's never explained.

RPG Crowdfunding News – The Walking Dead, The Black Ballad, CinCityCon, and more

That's new. I quite often see people write peak (or even peek) when they mean pique. But I think this is the first time I've seen the reverse of that.

Starfinder Paizo Announces The New STARFINDER ENHANCED!

I agree. It would be more elegant for increased damage to come from the character's level - like in 13th Age.

RPG Print News – RV Games, Swordfish Isles, and More

No, but most publishers have their own webstores. I like to support my FLGS when I can, but it doesn't always have a lot in stock. Most importantly, if you want to get something in both print and pdf without having to pay twice, and the publisher in question isn't connected to Bits & Mortar, you...

RPG Print News – RV Games, Swordfish Isles, and More

Oh absolutely, it's great at what it does, no question about that. And if this article can help more people find their way to an experience like that, great! That's what it's intended for, I have to assume. I just don't think the linking practice is optimal for that purpose. It's more optimized...

RPG Print News – RV Games, Swordfish Isles, and More

No. That's why he's started adding this disclaimer to the beginning of each of these columns: "new RPG releases and some classics, reprints, and sales available from retailers" What baffles me is that there is in fact a reprint of this book, but the link doesn't go to where you can buy it from...
