    Did anyone play Gorgoland's Gauntlet?

You're right with regard to that. Leaving player out at that point ruins some of the fun, but is also how the game is played. In order to soften that position, I had the jerleman (sp) subdue the character transported to the holding cell. This permitted the player the opportunity to do something...

    Did anyone play Gorgoland's Gauntlet?

I absolutely love this module. I ran it a few months ago in my Parent-Kid game. The kids still talk about it - that [Spoiler] every third step trap was great. The 13 year old barbarian set it off, disappears in a column of flame and reappears bald & naked later. Naked barbarian has become a...

Detroit Gameday II: Dec 4th AFTERMATH!!!

Remathilis, I ran into this problem last gameday. (I even taled with JD regarding this last night). I'm going to take the postion at this time that i'll be prepared whether I have players or not - just in case. If not, I'll see if I can't slip into a game somewhere. :heh:

Detroit Gameday II: Dec 4th AFTERMATH!!!

Mark wrote: I apologize for the delay in posting a response. I like playing PC in the 4 to 8th level area. I'm also all good with whatever type of story you want to run. I look for engaging stories with unforseen plot twists, but then again a lot of action is fun too. John

Detroit Gameday II: Dec 4th AFTERMATH!!!

Following LazarusLong42, I'll see if I can't scare up some particpants with a name and descrition. Mail Call The advertisement said, “Start a new life on the outworld colonies.” The fine print said, “After you’ve worked off the passage fee.” For several years now you’ve been working off the...

Detroit Gameday II: Dec 4th AFTERMATH!!!

Scyld - no harm done. Eladkot was always a little effeminate anyway. :D I hope you can make it. It will be nice to see you and Wynn again.

Detroit Gameday II: Dec 4th AFTERMATH!!!

I always wanted to play Traveller and have never had the opportunity. So, I'll just create an oportunity here. I'll throw my hat into the DM ring and run a T20 game in the afternoon. The details of which are yet to be determined. I'll supply pregens. Sign up and we can learn this game...

    D&D Session for Kids only

DMCal: I run a parent-kid game with kids between 13 and 7 years old. I second Philip's suggestion - so long as the hooks aren't amoral, I wouldn't worry about them. I ahve also found that kids roughly your son's age (my oldest is 11 also) are dungeon crawlers. THey won't get into the role end of...

Big Thank You to Quickbeam and Dr. Alex

MEG HAL, thank for the offer. I think I've got about all the accessories I can use to run the game right now. The dice were a big help because it slows the game down when the players are looking for who had a D20 last. While I doled out a set to each kid that played, it really made the day for...

    DARK•HERITAGE -- 16 installments to date, updated April 20th

I really hadn't thought much about the fact that we all GM other games. I think there may be something to that comment. But I also think on the player side, that the ease with which we play together is also derived from other commonalities such as age (we all over 30), family status (we all are...

Big Thank You to Quickbeam and Dr. Alex

Hey all, I just wanted to give a big public thank you to enworlder Quickbeam and his brother-in-law, Dr. Alex. I run a Parent-Kid game, which started off as a way to keep myself involve with my kid (I think if you can keep your kid playing games with you, then on some level a dialog remains...

    Reviews Not Influecing Buying?

I use online reviews of game products all-the-time in making my purchasing decisions. The more reviews of the product, the better able I am to make the decision. (this is particuarly true for electronic publishers bceuase I cannot browse them at Borders). Further, in situtations were there are...

    Looking for theme related adventures

Check out Dungeon #87, I have forgotten the adventure name, but its a white dragon lair in an ice lair with water hazards. Another is Dungeon 94, Spirals of the Mezzinene (sp?) - mindflairs and the underdark. In both cases, the cover art is "based" on the above adventures.

    Using Familiars in Combat

Dark Quest's Familiars book might help you. I'm currently working my way through it. I would check out Mongoose's Enyclopedia Arcana: Familiars (Crunching ?; Hidden Toad). It had alternative rules for familar paths other than that in the PHB (Alterness, etc.). I think there was a combat...
