    Blood Wars Minis

Nice looking figures. Not sure that I'll find too much use for the kolyarut, but the maug will make a nice substitute for a stone golem and is a really nice looking figure. No, they're definately large - I just checked. And a horned devil is my guess, too :D

    Goodman Games

I own a large number of Dungeon Crawl classics and have run a few. Mostly they're dungeon crawls and do exactly what they say they do. They can be pretty deadly - the last one I ran (Assault on Stormbringer Castle) almost ended in a TPK, with a large swathe of the party wiped out. But then...

    Ptolus: Adventures is now available!

Yes, that's correct. It is basically Chapter 33: Adventures (p. 588 to 617). It also includes the maps that came with the book as handouts (in the envelope). There seem to be a couple of additional player handouts that don't come with the book though (at least, I couldn't find them). There...

What are your thought on the Mystic Theurge?

I've had two players in my group play a MT, and I've played one once myself (kinda). From a DM point of view, I had no problems with it at all - both were the main spellcasters/healers of the group and they always (well, almost always) seemed to have enough to get the job done. And, yeah, at...

D20SRD... Has this ever happened to you?

LoL - that's pretty funny. I've seen other personalized error pages, but nothing quite like that one!

Complete listing for all pre-3e DnD products?

Acaeum is an excellent site/resource, with a ton of information. They also cover D&D (Basic). Really a site worth bookmarking if you have any interest in it. I'm sure they used to have a lot of 2nd edition stuff, but that seems to have gone. Or did I just imagine that?

Updated Battlebox - What's Different to the Old One?

I don't have the first one, so I can't answer that. However, the text on the cards is pretty fine, so I doubt anything has changed.

Updated Battlebox - What's Different to the Old One?

10" x 17" (ish). You get two, so can join them together, as they're flagstones (with some scattered bones, etc). Not sure you could draw on them (or, more to the point, if you'd be able to get the dry marker off if you did :p - they have a gloss, but are paper).

    PC Creation: Pointbuy or Roll?

We just had this discussion in our group for our new campaign. As the DM, I let the players call it. They went for points buy, though not everyone was in agreement. Personally, I prefer rolling the dice. It's just more fun that way :D

Updated Battlebox - What's Different to the Old One?

Okay, here's what's on the CD: - a whole bunch of printable counters in PDF format (constructs, dressing, spell affects, summoning) - character sheet - flagstone battlemap - quick reference spell sheets (for all the core classes) - area affect printable templates - 88 page pdf with summon...

Updated Battlebox - What's Different to the Old One?

I have the "revised and expanded" battlebox - picked it up a couple if days ago. I haven't checked out the cd yet, but otherwise here are the contents: - a metal d20 - 15 quick combat cards (bull rush, charge, disarm, feint, grapple, overrun, sunder, trip, turn undead, counterspell, fighting...

How would you fix the bodak/save-or-die

Bodaks have played a major role in two campaigns I've been in - one as a DM, the other as a player. In the game I Dm'd, the party encountered a bodak in an old mansion. One of the PCs ran into the room, cast their eye over it and immediately kealed over dead, having failed his save. The bodak...

So what Huge Miniatures would you like to see in the next Huge set?

It's colossal - they'll probably release this in its own right, if they releae it at all.

So what Huge Miniatures would you like to see in the next Huge set?

I ticked a few, but the one that would really interest me is the hydra, which is one of those obvious gaps waiting to be filled. It would also be very cool to see a remorhaz and more huge elementals. I'd also like to see more huge dragons. (but not gem dragons!)

    Blood Wars Minis

Yeah, the elf is a very nice figure - very elegant. Not sure about the gnome. I've been staring at the image and I really can't make up my mind about it. I think I'll just have to reserve judgement until I actually see it.

Why do people pretend CR makes sense?

I find that CRs work pretty well on the whole. Some are off and you always have to weigh an encounter against the player's characters and the environment, but I've always found it's worked well enough.
