If you're going to be a GOOD DM (or player), why wouldn't you?? It's not like I have it memorized or anything.
More arguements come from people who don't read the entire description or assume......
The Big 10 (-Monk) + Healer, Favored Soul.
What, no love for the Kingdoms of Kalamar PC Classes (Brigand, Infiltrator, Shaman etc) or even the DMG 3.0 Class (Witch)
Dungeon gives me at the most great adventures and at the least, great maps.
Dragon? More feats (which I don't use), More PrC's (which I don't use), more race/class options (which they've done a number of times).
Dungeon wins - and it's not close.
I used to, but I like the freedom of rolling in the open. My players complained that I hit WAY too much, and now that it's out in the open, the complaints have stopped.
And I still hit them WAY too much!! Now they complain about the dice......
If it's seminars, board games, miniatures and card games (mostly) you could wait a week or month after it starts, but certain games MUST be taken early or you just don't get in. I mean, almost all the Call of Cthuhu mods sold out by EOD tuesday. The Iron Lore demos were gone Monday etc. etc. etc.
We have GenCon's system (a couple thousand allegedly) and Ticketmaster (a few hundred thousand). What, there's nothing in between? I do wonder if they're using Andon's old system. Andon did this for GenCon the year or two before Hasbro/GenCon LLC.
It's as simple as this. I wanted to play:
LG Special (main event)
Hackmaster World Championships
True Dungeon
Dungeon Crawl Classics
All of these are multiple table, multiple time, multiple day events.
If I waited a week, I would have gotten..... NONE OF THEM!!
THAT. IS. WHY.
The lottery...
