the magnitude, sure, but how many D&D computer games are there in any given month? It’s not like they were so busy doing stuff for all the others… it was clear for a long time that BG3 would be the biggest D&D computer game of the year, even if that would have meant 5M copies sold rather than 50...

I could, but I would still pay for them. I am not ruling that out, but the less content of a book I actually am interested in, the less likely it is that I will get it. Will have to wait and see...

Not sure how you came to that conclusion… If the people were in favor of gambling, I doubt they would object to D&D themed gambling. You kinda have to start opposed to it to complain about D&D joining in.

that was not a sustained bump, that was people looking at their new PHB / DMG. If outside of looking at that (for a week or so) there is no uptick in D&D for months to several years but instead we see a continuing decline, then there was no bump - unless for you the short term of a week or two...

nothing definitive, we will need a longer timeframe for that not sure anyone said it was falling, only that this is not trending in the right direction for WotC looks like it did not even do that though

sounds like it, but how often do you get to claim free stuff etc.... All things being equal, less engagement is less engagement. It's not a spike in subscribers that is hidden by a drop off from people staring at their free LMoP for the last 18 months and are finally tired of looking at it...

too early to tell for the former, it is not the latter however, the drop goes from April to June, that is not a summer drop

we have about April 2024 up to the release of the new PHB, and it had higher user numbers than we have now… A falling trendline is never good, regardless of how much or how little data you have before that section. Will be interesting to see where the line goes from here, I doubt this year’s...

sure, but that cause is not limited to private companies. There is nothing about TSR’s failure that cannot happen to any company, regardless of its structure how so? To me the only difference is that their problem was not reflected in their stock price, but many companies took on too much debt...

they operate in a similar enough way. Not everyone can purchase them freely and their price is a lot less transparent, but you do get the voting rights that come with being a shareholder
